did you restore your original backup to your truck first?? I hope....

not sure about the power cycling exactly...

so the 9r08 update installs correctly, with no errors, and then dsdownloader asks you to reboot the predator?

when your predator boots back up, is the new 9r08 revision number at the top of the screen??

No-just starting the application to recognize that the predator is plugged in. I can open the app but when I attach the USB cable (yes I installed the driver for the cable) it gives a popup to cycle the power of the predator and when I do that the software doesn't recognize that I've done it and it locks up at that point.

try attaching the predator to your pc and powering it up FIRST... THEN start up the DSDL app....

it should query the ports and find it...

Lew--more questions! So Sorry but I'm new to this whole thing but really jazzed about the possibilities.

How do I pull the data log from the handheld to my PC? I'm looking at the instructions from DSLOGRedux and can't see what to do. My log is full and I can view it within the handheld, but not sure how to extract to the PC?

"To get the log off the Predator and onto your PC, hook up the power adapter and serial (or usb) cable to your PRedator and let it boot up to the main menu. Now start up the Dataviewer..."

I don't have an option on my Predator for "dataviewer" that I'm aware of?

Then the instructions go on to say..."It'll tell you it can't read the VIN of the vehicle (duh! cus it's not connected to the vehicle LOOL) and to click the download icon to get the log from the Predator. So go ahead and click that icon and wait a few minutes for the log to download from your Predator."

I'm missing something regarding the options on my Predator to pull data from it I think?!

Dataviewer, dsdownloader and LS2 interface are all programs you download and install onto your computer.
They are all located here:

Along with most current updates for your unit
( DO NOT UPDATE YOUR UNIT UNTIL YOU RESTORE THE ORIGINAL BACKUP TO THE VEHICLE )

Thanks Ill_Born! That's what I needed was the Dataviewer! DUH!

Looks like based on my first log, I need to adjust injector slope down by 10%. Does that seem reasonable? Just making sure that double digit adjustments are normal.

More logging maybe even tomorrow. This is the fun stuff!

is this a camaro??? Both banks are the same value, which, would be unusual unless this is a new camaro. For some reason the new Camaros do that, it seems.... If it is a good log, and there is enough data (which there is, otherwise it would not have even reduced it) make that adjustment, drive around for 50-70 miles and re-log and see what shows up.

No, double-digit adjustments are NOT unheard of ---- that being said, looks like your engine tends to want to run lean. CAI? Exhaust? Any leaks anywhere?

Edit: Just scrolled around and see this is an Avalanche. Can you post up the log?

I am a little unsure of both banks being the same average. THAT is a little unusual...

Here's my log.

I did the "gm gas general short" real time data log. I believe that both banks are included?

Is on a 2007 Cadillac Escalade 6.2.

Appears that bank 1 and 2 do have varying values but their data at the end of the log seems inconsistent and all over the board. Is a longer log better in this instance? More logs to get accurate data? Also, if longer logs are better is it ok to merge logs to one larger .Csv file? My log was done on flat interstate at 73mph and I could easily replicate.

Just a quick thought when i was reading your story. How did you datalog? When i data log i drive up to 60mph then i put my transmission in M mode and shift 1 gear down so that it doesn't go in overdrive. When you say you were drivng 73 mph weren't you in overdrive mode? wich can cause that your valueas are differanct than in a normal gear?

Just a quick thougt from my side dont know if it has to do anything with it ;)

OK... couple of things.

Bone stock + CAI : makes PERFECT SENSE that your trims are like that. The CAI allows more air in, thus the positive trims to get to the target AFR.

The longer the cruise log the better. As Solid infers, make sure that DOD (if equipped) is NOT kicking in during the log. One way to do this is to drop one gear and then drive such that your engine maintains 1800-2300 RPMs
during the log.

Interesting that things do fluctuate, but that the averages are the same. What this is telling ME is that the engine is running consistent on both banks. If you did your log correctly,
go ahead and make that adjustment, run anther 50-70 miles and re-log and let's take another look.

Uhhhh, I take back what I just said (sort of)

Your LTFTs are welded at 9.375... 10000+ data points, and every trim is 9.375. This is what the Camaro folks are seeing as well.
Now I am getting a little interested in what's going on with the tools OR the
ECMs all of a sudden.... and this is an 07. hmmmmm

Lew, we have another welded log.

For what it`s worth, I also would like to see a new log (same parameters chosen) as Grumpy suggests! The STFT`s never go above 8 and drop to 0 at times, which would basically justify the non changing LTFT`s. But with the Cat temps so high and un-even, there is not much room for overtemp. This could be high due to the trims being out by 9 or so. it would also be good to see the same log after the adjustments. One other thing , he selected the full list to log and I do not see ECT in his log. I like to see and verify the 3 temp sensors, (garbage, garbage out)

Just making sure you want the same information logged--the "GM Gas General Short" list of parameters or is the "GM Gas General Full" a better indicator? I can replicate the same log by setting the cruise on the interstate at 73mph. My vehicle does not have DoD so that is not an issue and I was above 1800rpm. Would you rather see me drop down a gear in manual mode, assuming 5th and get to the 1800rpm range or what makes for a better log? I can try to accomplish this tonight and post later this evening.

I did not upgrade to v9r08 and my Predator is stock loaded with v9r07. Should I upgrade to v9r08, make adjustments to injector slope, and log again or would you rather see another log before I do anything?

Thanks for the help you guys--this IS the reason I bought the Predator as it is fun getting into the heart of how sh!t works.
