Q on idling
Where in the u7173 can I find the RPMs im currently running at and how far down in the idling can you go? Will too low damage anything?

RE: Q on idling
If you lower the idle too far the motor will stall out. You're cammed, you should have a raised idle, not a lower one.
RE: Q on idling
I understand that but with it too high you cant hear the lope good. Or am I missing something Im supposed to know? LOL
I dropped my idle to what my tach looks like to be about 600. I havent found where in the DSP I can find that yet but it idles fine there and does not stall or stumble. I just want to make sure Im not going to hurt anything.
Ive got to do some datalogging tomorrow and send to my CMR guy.

no problamo.if you by mistake set the idle to low ( im cammed and use -150 rps, with a 180*F therm) worst case , you'll set off some random misfire codes. Just have you cmr guy cut out the misfire sensors from 0-2000 RPS,done.Weedahoe wrote:I understand that but with it too high you cant hear the lope good. 600 RPMS pulls a little too hard for me while stopped. 550 is much better behaved, and you can hear little lobe pings every so often, very cool.

yeah, mine is set at about 600-625 right now and it idles fine but I did some data logging today finally and will get that out to him in the morning so hopefully it can get a bit better. But wow, 550? I didnt think it would go that low and hold.
