Logging real-time data
Logging real-time data
I got some aftermarket gauge overlays and had to remove and re-install the gauge needles. I was using the Diablo U7191 to do some real-time monitoring to see how well I replaced the needles in their original positions (engine speed, vehicle speed, oil temp). This was working fine, but the vehicle speed registers in Kilometers per hour.
How do I change it to read in Miles per hour?
What's funny, is that when I actually log and save the info on the Diablo, then downlod it to my computer, and open the file, it shows as miles per hour. What gives?
Also, on an unrelated note, do I need to update to the most recent revision for my Diablo. I currently have 8r07. Are there any added benefits with this latest update for my Impala?
Thanks!

No Corny, no related updates for our cars... the update is only to support new CAL ID's for other vehicles.

Re: RE: Logging real-time data
yeah, but was Corny talking about in the DataViewer, or on the actual Predator screen while watching the live data???johnc wrote:Menu --> View --> Display Units --> English Standard

When he said "download it to my computer, open the file" I assumed he was using the DataViewer.

RE: Re: RE: Logging real-time data
he said once he downloaded it to the computer and viewed it in the Dataviewer, it shows correctly...
"when I actually log and save the info on the Diablo, then downlod it to my computer, and open the file, it shows as miles per hour"
so that leads me to think that he's talking about the wrong reading being in the real time monitoring on the Predator screen itself.

Thanks Lew!
I am talking about viewing the real-time data ON the predator, while I'm IN my car.
I am not talking about viewing the info on my computer.

RE: Re: RE: Logging real-time data
dude... not sure what to tell ya other than it's a Predator bug, like the on-screen AFR reading...
I've never really noticed it on mine, but then again - I don't usually log the vehicle speed...

RE: Re: RE: Logging real-time data
I recall that when I originally wrote the DataViewer for the E40 that the lambda PID had to be inverted for the vehicles we were testing on (GTO, Corvette). It may be that in later models they have fixed that PID. Which would mean that both the DataViewer and the Predator will need to check the VIN and/or CAL and spin the conversion one way or the other. Fun stuff.

Sorry John, but what exactly are you saying? Am I SOL?
Thanks!

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Logging real-time data
No, not at all. This is something we will fix, but it needs investigation (as to which cars, and why it is inverted) and then a new revision of the DataViewer and the Predator. So, not something that will happen overnight
