Looks like i'm going to send it back to him at his expense and he is going to try to do it properly with the restore function and send it back to me. Hopefully it all works out.

when i get the tuner back the first thing i will do is check the last tune written. What should it say if it is properly unlocked?

one more question. this tuner has an old version on it, v.7r50d. I'm really only using it to correct for gears. Is there a need or what would the advantages be to having it updated? How would I go about doing that? OK i guess that was two questions.

well, 7r50 gear adjustment was broken for years, so yeah, Id update it...

so the gear adjustment function which is basically what i need does not work on this version? How do i go about the update?
