newbee questions

Post by GuySmiley »

Hey there, I just picked up a used U7193 with 9r07 on it from I guy on this site who used it for his Vett.

I bought it as I want to get a little more life out of my 2003 Chev Silverado with 60k KM's on it. The truck is also used for towing our travel trailer so anything extra helps.

I could not wait when I got is to I threw the performance tune on it and noticed a small improvment but small at best. I know that the Predator can get more out of it so I will probably get a custom tune done up.

I am new to the tunning world and had a couple of quick questions.
-is there a manual I can get that describes each paramiter on the unit that can be adjusted
-does the U7193 with 9r07 do data logging (have read that it does and does not??)
-being new where should I start to get the most "bang for the buck" right away.

Looking forward to working with you guys to make my ride more enjoyable.

Thanks :D

which tune did you install? the 87 octane tune?? or the Diablo Tune??

yes, that newer revision 9r07 CAN save/record data logs...

no, there is no manual listing all of the parameters in there that you can adjust... have a question about anything, post up here and it will be answered... that's the easiest and best way...

first thing you should do after you've put on about 75 miles on the installed tune, is to get your fueling adjusted correctly so that you get your average LTFT's (long term fuel trims) into the correct 0 to -2 range... here's info:

When I hooked it up it gave me the option to either install the performance tune or the custome tune (can't remember exactly what is said but it something along the lines of changing parameters)

I was unsure of what to change so I just installed the performance tune.

Should I have seen the 87 octane on that screen or is it some where else.

Also, can I go in and play around without saving anything? Sorry for the stupid questions but the booklet that comes with the unit does not show how to navigate through the screens which I assumed it would.

When I get a minute I will go through the 24 mages of the thread you attached.

Thank again

you should have a diablo performance tune and an 87 octane tune...

naahhh... no need to go through all the pages on that thread that I linked to hehe...

all the info you need about adjusting your fueling, doing the data logs, etc etc is right in my first post on that page....
