U7198 QUESTION

I get my U7198 tmmrw for my 2002 camaro z28. I am just curious if there is anything that I sould do besides follow the instructions to install the daiblo performance tune, to be sure that I get the max power/performance from the tune/predator. Thanks

you buy it brand new, so it's the newer version 7198 that can save/record data logs??

install the diablo tune, put on about 75-100 miles, and then do some data monitoring and get your fueling adjusted correctly...

that will get you even better throttle response, quicker acceleration, stronger/harder pull, and better mileage...

After i complete downloading the data from my predator to my computer in your "instructions" posted above, how do I know what to adjust everything to? you say to load it into dslogredux but how do I know what to actually adjust each parameter to? Does the program know whats right for my car? I dont wanna mess anythiong up if the program shows my parameters and tells me to adjust them every which way, but the changes are not for my engine in particular. any help is appreciated, thanks much

the log file has data in it from your car, while you were driving it... so running it through dslogredux, it will analyze your car's data, and tell you what you should adjust the "injector slope" parameter to, in order to get your fueling dialed in...

it doesn't tell you anything else for "each parameter"... it is for just getting your fueling dialed in correctly...

post up your log file if you want, and I'll take a quick look at it.

Thanks that helps, clears the confusion up for me. Yeah I'm going to go log now, ill post the data up in a little. I assume you want me to post the file that I download from the predator to my computer, being the log? Or the reads dslogredux gives me? Just making sure

yes, the dataviewer file... after you download the log into the dataviewer, go to File > Export to CSV and save that .csv log file to your computer... and then you can run that csv file through dslogredux...

and can also post it up here...

Question:

To get the log off the Predator and onto your PC, hook up the power adapter and serial (or usb) cable to your Predator and let it boot up to the main menu.

Now start up the Dataviewer. Dint say this >>>>> It'll tell you it can't read the VIN of the vehicle (duh! cus it's not connected to the vehicle LOL) and to click the download icon to get the log from the Predator. So go ahead and click that icon and wait a few minutes for the log to download from your Predator.


whats the data viewer? something on the predator or on the computer?

the Dataviewer is diablo's software that you need to download and install on your PC so that you can connect to the predator with it and get the log file outta the predator and on to your PC...

that statement up there that you mentioned about the predator didn't say that - that's not for/about the predator... that's when you start up the dataviewer program on your PC, you will get that message...

here's the latest version of the DataViewer.... download it and install it on your PC... you need this software to be able to get your logs off the predator...
