u7170 crom file

well i finally went and bought all the hardware to download the newest crom file to my predator Release 9r04 (current) and while i was downloading it failed and now all my chip will say "This pstroke73 tool requires a CROM file before use" What the can i do now i cant stand driving the truck without it.

P.S. i've been holding on tech support for 32mins and 27secs now what a way to burn up my overpriced cell phone mins. jk

well i tried express tune and it gets to packet 2 and then the tool says "cannot load ford 7 3 application into pstroke 73 tool"

where can i get the v8r05 which i believe what was on it before i attemped this. the downloads page has no link to get it???

well i got it fiqured out look up 7r19_128K.crom and underneath the search box select "search for all terms" there will be a author in there under "Staats". Mikel has posted both Croms in this forum there is one for the booting ford_7_3 predator http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... ad&id=1052 and there is one for the booting pstroke73 predator http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... ad&id=1062
hope this saves somebody a little time it took me all day to find this download.Also for you guys that dont have the ablity to modify the tunes this one will let you change the way your trans shifts.i like it way more than the old programs and it runs way cooler i used to see 1200* to 1300* post turbo temps with the old one now i cant get over 1000*Just make sure you know which boot up you have pstroke73 or ford 7_3

ps diablo sport you guys really should have a download page with every download avaliable so your customers can fiqure this out with out having to waste time and patience on something that could so easily be resolved your phone lines are always packed with calls well how about letting us go online and find the download we need.It could be so so freaking easy when you click the downloads link.a page pops up with every avaliable download in a list of what works for what tuner.that would be nice for all of us we could know if we had different options on downloads and try them out in our trucks and maybe your techs could work more on getting us new tunes and not answer phone calls all day long.life could be so much easier.thanks kyler

I liked the 7R19DZ better than the 8R05 Myself..Response seemed to be better IMO.If you dont have any luck...I have the 7R19DZ file.Lemme know.

Sorry just getting back to work today. Your tool is probably an older version that has limited memory on it. Hence the inability to upgrade to the newer croms. Croms usually come out to either fix issues or add support for new cal ids. If you are having no issues with a crom and enjoy the performance then stick with it. Eventually i would like to overhaul the u7170 tool but it won't be any time soon as i am swamped.

By the obdII plugin without writing on it?also isn"t there a 7r19cz if so whats the diff...

Yes i believe that's how you tell but also the older revisions is a dead give away. All these tunes/revisions were before my time so I am not too familiar with them all that much. I plan to due an overhaul of the 7.3 tool when time permits but for now i can link you the latest 7r crom i have available.

If you have an older Predator DO NOT upload the new software download. That download is for the newer hardware versions and when you try to download it to your older Predator there is too much info that it cannot store and then you have a locked up Predator. Then it took 3 hours to finally figure it out and get here. There needs to be a warning on that particular download. Thanks for all the help on this forum however.

well don that tune you sent me doesn't work on my tool it says cannot load ford 73 to pstroke73 tool. It only gets to packet 2.

so don do you have any other tunes that could work with my tool or am i just going to have to stick with the one i have i like it but i would like to try out other tunes if i could.i need the one for. booting...pstroke73
