Connection problem on T1000

Post by DevilsG8 »

Ok. real interesting problem I'm having with my T1000.

Car is a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT (L76)
Unit is a T100RR which has the latest updates

Let me start off by saying I have already sent my trinity in once RMA-10322 for what appears to be the same issue.

When I got the unit back from sending it in it worked great for about a half a day. I uploaded a tune without any trouble, mounted the unit on the left side of my windsheild and then loaded up the family to take them to Riverton (about 45 minutes south of Thermopolis) we were in the middle of the canyon when my car went nuts.

First my check engine light came on, then a very loud clunk from my transmission as well as the famous red X with "Contact Dealer" on the screen inbetween the gauges. the needles on my RPM and Speedo both went crazy moving back and forth between 180 MPH and 0 and likewise with my gas gauge and temp gauge.

Then as I stepped on the gas I noticed even though my auto transmission was set into drive the trans itself was locked into neutral. I pulled over to the side of the road and as I slowed down the transmission made another loud "Clunk" and went into 2nd gear. I sped up and the transmission would not slide into third. I noticed I was not in limp mode because the motor would rev to the proper 6000 RPM limit but no gear change would occur.

I pulled the car over and turned everything off. unplugged the unit and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Started the car back up, and even though the check engine light was on transmission and motor performed like nothing had happened at all.

after pulling the codes with my MSD Dashhawk later (which doesn't have a connection problem to my car.) it would appear as though the car had a torque overload and slammed the car in nuetral. I plugged back in my trinity to attempt to load in the stock tune but the unit wouldn't connect after playing with the cable end connected to the trinity itself I found out if I held the 90 degree angle and pushed slightly into the unit it would connect...after several failed attempts I was finally able to connect just long enough to go back to the stock tune.

so here I am again with a trinity that won't connect to my car and causes breakdowns in the middle of nowhere (with no cell service/onstar phone). I'm wondering if this is an isolated incident and currently a problem with only my unit or if anyone else seems to have this issue. When I talk to the phone with Diablosport you guys seem really suprised and tell me that my issue is "unheard of"

Regardless would just like to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Pictures included.

initially in order the the tuner to connect I was holding the unit like this:

After several failed attempts to imprint the stock tune I switched my handhold to a more steady grip (not taken in the car because I was concentrating very hard on getting the stock tune back on:

and this the error message my car gives me when the tuner isn't working or connecting properly. This message appears about every 10 seconds with a the warning chime going off at an extreme volume (when I took this picture my car was warm and my gas tank was full, both of the gauges were going off the wall. Meanwhile my tuner was in "diagnostics" trying to read the DTC's):

Thanks in Advance,
