Thinking of U7180 What live data can be monitored ??

Post by Danbeck »

Thinking of buying a U7180 for my 01 LB7 duramax. I'm wondering if the fuel line vacumn for filter fuel flow can be monitored? Also can EGT and boost be monitored live? The new 2 micron Gm filter can plug pretty quicklly I know the dealer can read a value. They said mine was at 5 and should be replaced, I guess a fresh filter is about 2. Sure would like to read this value myself! Also not like to purchase EGT guage if I could get this information from Predator! I have looked on this site for a listing of what information the Predator would provide me. But unable to find the link ! Thanks,,,,Dan !

The PCM does not monitor EGT, so that value cannot be displayed on the Predator.
I will look into the other parameters you asked about on Monday and let you know.

This seemed like an easy enough question....but I do not have a Duramax here right now to look at the live data. We are trying to determine if this is a special function of the TechII (dealer tool) or a standard parameter that the Predator can see.
I will let you know as soon as I find out.

Thanks

I just went through the Tech2 on our duramax and there is nowhere to check fuel filter status, only oil filter life, but no fuel filter.

The dealer checks the vacuum at the fuel port (black plastic covered brass schrader valve) directly above air conditioning pump. 2Hg for a fresh filter and full tank, at 5 to 7Hg they replace. So it's not monitored electronically. There are Vacuum/pressure testers available that fit that particular connection.
