tired of me yet??

Post by craigt »

I have a U7192 I was On a diff thread but I think its ver 6.05 and rev 2.05

I have noticed this on both the U7198 and mine. Seems like the timing runs about 35 to 40 degrees while driving normally or letting off the accellerator. but under WOT I have noticed the timing drop back to 26 degrees and the knock sensor stays on 0.00. correct me if I'm wrong but I thought advancing the timing ecspecially during WOT was the key to the power. its not the TM abuse or % torque reduction. Since these are trucks and we left the torque reduction b4 shifting on, is that it?

The reason your engine is able to sustain more timing at part-throttle is because only a limited amount of air and fuel make it into the cylinder at part-throttle. Lower cylinder pressures enable the combustion process to start sooner and help improve part-throttle response by increasing torque. This additional part-throttle timing improves efficiency and torque.

Yeah, these new efficient motors do not require alot of timing to make peak power at WOT.
