05' Dodge Ram - u7137-9r06 - No more Trans control????
Moderator: mikel
Its due to the fact that different tcm responds differently and i think what happened was we fixed one thing for the pcm that responds in the different way than yours and broke the logic that responds to yours, figures...

o.k., but that doesn't answer if you think my idea is a good idea.johan wrote:Its due to the fact that different tcm responds differently and i think what happened was we fixed one thing for the pcm that responds in the different way than yours and broke the logic that responds to yours, figures...
I just signed up to this forum because of this thread. I actually just purchased a new Predator U7137 for my 2005 Ram Daytona 4x4, but have yet to take it out of the box, again, because of these issues.
I have been a computer and network engineer for 14+ years and perhaps you could look at this. I would suspect that "adding" support for more models and years to the CROM is what may have broke it for others (like the 2005 Ram), perhaps separating out the 3rd gen (03'-08') and 4th gen (09'-10') models would be the solution since the technology lmake have ikely changed anyway in those PCM/TCM's (just like it does with desktop PC's, laptops, and servers). I believe others have suggested that as well. You obviously could use the same hardware, but need a different CROM load (since it appears to just be a flash file) for the different "generations" of PCM/TCM variations. I do realize that this would cause you to have more part numbers in your catalog, but your hardware (the unit itself) is the same, correct? I did see how these are made on that show "How Things are Made" which is another reason I bought this unit, all made and designed right here in the USA!
So, have you tried rolling out the support for the models added in 9r06 to see if that fixes the issues? Not sure what else you changed or added, so forgive me for not knowing. Sounds like the best CROM was 9r05 (from what I read here and on other forums), so what models were added after that? Maybe that is what "broke" the software? Just my 2 cents....
Also, why do you not offer downloads to "roll-back" to earlier CROM's? I would open my unit and download the 9r05 if it was available....
I will wait to see what happens on this one, certainly want to use what I paid good $$$ for!!! Thanks and certainly good luck....if I was closer I would let you use my truck for testing, but Las Vegas is a bit away....

that's why I made this suggestion:RTICWOLF wrote: I would suspect that "adding" support for more models and years to the CROM is what may have broke it for others (like the 2005 Ram), perhaps separating out the 3rd gen (03'-08') and 4th gen (09'-10') models would be the solution
make a crom for '03- early '04, a crom for late '04-'05, a crom for '06-'08 and a crom for '09-'10.
between me and others, there should be a copy of every crom released.RTICWOLF wrote:Also, why do you not offer downloads to "roll-back" to earlier CROM's? I would open my unit and download the 9r05 if it was available....
mikel should be able to send you earlier crom's.
I have 9r02, 9t03c, 9r04, 9t06d, 9r06 and 9t07c on my desktop.
I can e-mail you a copy of one, some or all of these crom's if you want. i recommend you try 9t06d.
PM me your e-mail addy if you want these crom's.
RTICWOLF - If you go back to the first couple pages people have uploaded the various CROMs from the 9r03 to the current one. I have used the 9r05 in mine with no issues and full trans support so I can tell you first hand that they are good (just scan them for viruses of course not that I found any when I downloaded them).
With that being said, even without the trans options (which I do want back) my truck is running better than it ever has with the old releases, actually picked up a few tenths on my 0-60 without the trans settings, so personally Im going to keep this revision on until they fix it. I can live with the soft shifts for a little while as long as the truck is performing like it is.
Also it would not hurt to try and load the newest version on your truck, some 05's (not all obviouisly) have uploaded it and are working just fine with full trans support and all. So what Johan said above makes sense....

Yeah separating the crom's is not a good idea as there will be more branches of code to keep up and maintain, we did that mistake back in the days and we are still paying for it, not doing that again.
We should get it sorted out next week, once we get a truck in here we usually have a fix rather quickly.

Predator U7137 - No Trans control
1. Predator U7137
2. v.9r06
3. 2005 Dodge Ram Daytona 5.7L Hemi
I just received my brand new Predator U7137. I decided to do a little research, before programming my truck, when I came across this thread. I was shocked and disappointed to hear all the problems everybodys having with no trans support available, throttle sensitivity option missing, old files not available on manufacturers site for download, etc. I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow using the various crom files to see if I can find a setup that works for me. I will post my results but I have a feeling I'm going to encounter the same issues, especially because is seems 05's are particularly prone to problems. If I do encounter the same problems others have had, I'm debating on just returning it for a different programmer.
My question to all those who have experience with the Diablo brand of programmers is if any of you know if the Trinity has all the desired tuning options available, hassle free, that we all expected from the predator, or have people had similar problems with the software on the trinity's as well? If they work well, I think i will bite the bullet and spend the extra cash and exchange my predator. However, if anybody knows of them also having problems or missing options such as trans manipulation, I'm going to go with a Flashpaq. Have used one if those for my 07 Trailblazer SS and have had 0 problems and nothing but good experience with it. Thanks for the help

GSX you may not have had any problems with the S/C on a chevy, but go to there web site and see some of the horrer stories for Dodge. its not the programer its the nazi pcm whey put in the truck. S/C and diablo are at least tring most the rest have gave up.
you see ford and chevy past there info on . but mercedes did not and so the have to start from scratch and work thur all the bugs that may occur.

RE: Re: RE: 05
NEWBIE AND CONFUSED NEEDING SOME HELP......just got a new predator for my 06 dodge ram hemi. it came with the latest version software . i installed the performance 93 octane tune, and filled the tank with 93. however , when installing and trying to adjust parameters such as trans shift points and firmness , there is NO option. also the top speed limiter wont adjust either. in fact NOTHING will adjust. the only thing i was able to do is load the regular preloaded 93 tune option. without any other adjustment availability. when i called support ,i spoke with mike. he says the engineers are working on a fix.IM a bit confused and irritated with whats goin on because when i read about this product ,it said it would do the things im talking about. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUES??? my email > [email protected] THANX

if 9r06 doesn't have trans control, I can e-mail you a Crom that should have trans control.GSXRated455 wrote: 1. Predator U7137

as motorscooter said, superchips on Dodge has had MANY problems. might work good on your truck, might not.GSXRated455 wrote: However, if anybody knows of them also having problems or missing options such as trans manipulation, I'm going to go with a Flashpaq. had Flashpaq 3815 tuning for about 3 yrs, experienced a few superchips problems firsthand myself.
bad news with superchips is:
if an update is screwed up, you are STUCK with it until it is fixed. NO back-tuning.
with Diablo, we can at least back-tune to a crom that works right.
it took superchips about 10 months to fix a datalogging issue.
for several months, superchips has had a giant glitch in 4.7L truck tuning that causes serious back-firing and could possibly break some pistons............not fixed yet as far as i know.
