LTFT all screwed up

Post by squall8158 »

04 silverado, 5.3L U7193. logged data last week with just the diablo tune. told me to go -2% for my slope. noticed that the adjustment icon started way to the negative slope already. i went -2% and tuned. drove for a week and logged again today. i was averaging 0.26 bank 1 and -0.31 bank 2. and it told me to adjust +2% for my slope. WTF. why do i want to be going up. i thought i was suppose to be at 0/-2% for my slope. whats going on here

yep, your fine.... I assume your talking about dslogredux....

issue is, your numbers are soooo small and close to 0, it's falling in a gray area of the algorithm used to calculate the recommended adjustment... so, it's telling you to go up.. then when you do a new log after that, your numbers will be outside of that small gray area and it would give you the correct adjustment to make.

but yeah, your numbers are fine where you're at... cuz once the weather gets warmer, you will richen up a little, and those will drop to -1.xxx values, and you'll still be perfect.

so, your fine... good to go man..

well, it depends on HOW dirty and blocked that current one is hahahahaha...

put the new filter in, put on about 50 miles, then do a new log and re-check the ltft's, that's all....

you can try adding 2* of timing, but I wouldn't go too crazy... if you have the Diablo Performance Tune installed already (not the 87 tune) the diablo tune already adds a lot of timing... so if you do add some more, make sure to log for any KR...

FWIW, I usually end up having to pull out some timing when I do my custom tunes for people, because of KR they get from just the timing advance in the diablo tunes already...

as for off-the-line-grunt, you'd need to get a custom tune to improve that... because the things that need to be tweaked more for that, are not available as end-user adjustable parameters in the handheld itself...

What exactly do you adjust for off the line grunt? Tiiming fueling or what?
