How to make a log with my C6?

Since I understand there is a problem with logging data with the U7194 and we are supposed to use a laptop, how would I go about logging some data that way? I have never logged any data before so I am trying this for the first time. Thanks for any help.

connect the Predator to your cars OBD port.. connect the serial cable from the Predator to your laptop. Start up the dataviewer app on your laptop to select the parameters to log and click the Record button at the top to start recording/saving a log.
