Issue on u7131 update, what are you all doing?

Step # 11 and 12 on the instructions to update is where my issue begins, i do not have a ports tab to open up and when i click on unknown device (the computer can see the diable being pluged in) I do not have a "port setting" tab. I assume i have a different version of windows than what the directions are for, now what???

I can't figure mine out either. I guess if I really want a new tune I will just send my Predator in and have them do it for me.....

I have found out that we have a limited user and a administrator users on windows as log in options. You have to be on the adm to make the changes to baud rate. I had my money that was the problem but i am allready loged in as a adm user.

Can we really mail them in to get updated?

that sounds exactly right,try that for sure,i had a problem getting my pc to see the diablo,the port tab fixed that problem,i needed to set my com port to #5 then it all worked fine.

did you turn off any and all programs running? I had this problem, turned off everything including wireless networking and internet. then all of a sudden it worked. there was some scarey times but all is well and was worth it for me. Although I have the 7130 model sounds like the same trouble.

That's wierd. It shouldn't have made a difference due to the fact that you weren't installing a program on your computer, you were running an application.

I have a tuner now that everytime I plug it into my truck, it says "missing an application" so the update did wonders for me. Basically, during the writing process of the new file, it fucked up and left my tuner useless. For the above problem, do you have your serial to USB cable plugged in and recognized? Don't forget to get the driver for the cable either.

The owners manual shows you how to set the baud rate for the port. you can change it on win xp. before you download the update, put the stock tune back in the truck. read the manual!
