2009 G8 GT- Help figuring things out

Post by Chrisu23 »

I am for sure a rookie when it comes to tuning. I got the diablosport because i wanted to be different then what everyone else was using. Everyone that i have read using other tuners say it really wakes up the car. I have installed both the 91 tune and diablo tune. I have not seen any performance gains and wonder if i am missing something. Is there something else i can do? Is it incredibly hard to adjust settings by yourself? I have lots of questions and would appreciate some help. Thanks

I was in your position just a few short months ago. Before I got my Predator for my truck, I was VERY skeptical. Well, all I can say now is that my Predator turned my truck into a raging fast beast from hell. After playing with the settings, the truck truly feels like a sports car now. Its faster than a mofo....

Other guys on here with G8's and Camaro SS vehicles claim the same. They all say how wonderful the predator is....

Ok firstly, make sure you are using premium fuel with your predator tune. If you are using the high octane predator tune, you must use a tank of 100% Premium. Secondly, you must dial in your LTFT settings. Search this website for "Logging LTFT's"... Dont let it scare you. Its actually very easy to do.

Once you have your LTFT's dialed in correctly, you should run much better and you will get much better gas mileage too! Play with some of your settings and see what they do for you. Also, if all else fails and you still cannot get the power you want, contact the moderator on the website named "06MONTESS".. EVERYONE on here knows 06MONTESS. He can make you a "custom" tune that will surely turn your G8 into a monster...

Good luck... Keep posting questions if you have any. I always did at first, and they are really good at answering questions promptly..

The G8s are tuned pretty well from GM, so they may not pick up as much as a truck, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Start by reading the stickies on how to adjust the tune for your car, and work from there!
