You can say I am a newbie when it comes to tuning... I can build you whatever you choose but I have very to no experience in working with a Predator or tuning a vehicle using one. I think I downloaded everything needed... if not maybe even more. I have a 2005 LS2 6.0 with a Airaid CAI, NGK TR6's and deleted the cats and the mufflers (not sure why? i was just wondering what it would sound like and its good)... I have turned off CAGS and COT. I am sure there is more power there but I am not sure on how to datalog and how to adjust the fuel trims and such. I read that Monte06 does tunes and that is something that I would be interested in doing but I would also like to learn while doing this. I plan on installing a Full Exhaust (trying to make up my mind on the NPP, Z06 or after market exhaust) Heads and a cam. So here are some basic questions to begin:
-I know I have to make a copy of the tune on my car (the diablo tune) and email it to monte06 but I also wanted to get a datalog of driving normal and WOT. I know for the Vette I have to take off the fuse for the radio to install the tune... Do I have to do that to datalog as well? or can I leave it on?
-Also, what are the dangerous areas to be in as far as A/F ratios? and timing through out the graph? and what amount of timing is more benefitial for the cars without it being dangerous (or before going BOOM)?
I guess we can start there...
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Javi.

RE: Tuning my 05 Vette
no need to pull any fuses, unless you have aftermarket items installed... any aftermarket electronics you will need to pull the fuse for to disable them... but if you're stock, no need to pull any for installing a tune or for data logging...
when installing a tune, you need to turn your key on, but do NOT start up the engine...
when data logging, obviously you have to start the engine and be driving...
I wouldn't change any timing... the diablo tunes are tweaked up pretty good compared to stock... and I usually have to actually pull out/reduce the timing in areas when doing custom tunes to reduce/eliminate KR.
at normal driving/cruise, your AFR will always be at the stoich value of 14.7... that's what the ECM uses the fuel trims for, to keep the AFR at that level.
at WOT, you want your AFR around 12.6 - 12.8 to be safe...
info on data logging, what parameters to log, etc etc can be found here:

and, if you're going to have me do a custom tune for ya, then you don't really have to worry about making any adjustments yourself, as I will/can do it in the custom tune. You would just need to provide me with data logs, a copy of your original backup stock tune file, a copy of the "extra tune" file - which is a copy of the diablo tune you installed to your car - you would actually have to copy it from the car to the predator before you could export that one.
all the info and programs/apps you need can be found here: http://www.dslogredux.com/DiabLew_Tune/
let me know if you have any instant messenger and what your screenname is... that'll make it a lot easier to help ya along with learning stuff...

RE: Tuning my 05 Vette
Lew, sounds good... I will be datalogging either today on my way to work or tomorrow which I am off. and then I will either create a screen name or find my old ids and get in so you can help me do everything else. I appreciate all the help. Thanks...
