U7193 WOT PE Settings ?

Post by roentgen »

Hi Guy's have U7193

Version: v.9r07 in an 05 Avalanche 5.3L. I have adjusted LTFT's as per DSLogRedux to -1. I know I have to drive again, and do some more logging to check LTFT's again, so PCM re-learns, and they settle in.

Is there any way of adjusting WOT PE for 3 RPM ranges to get a bit more out of this unit, or is that all the adjustments I can make after installing the Performance tune & adjusting LTFT's ?

Is the next step a Custom tune ? Attached is .csv file if anyone wants to comment.

Tks for the look in advance.

U7193 WOT PE Settings ?

Post by roentgen »

So I did some more reading. If I hook up the U7193 to truck, and connect to Laptop, and run Data Viewer. I can use the Data Viewer to Record A/F via the Predator, then save as .csv, and use DSLogRedux to analyze the .csv file to find out how much to adjust PE. I really don't want to touch to many other parameters, I'm not comfortable with touching timing, as I have read the Predator Perf tune already advances timing quite a bit.

How long do I log ? Do I log at a constant speed, and do a few logs with going through the gears from a standing start in the same log. Is there anything else I should log ?

Sorry about all the questions, but I am new to this, and am willing to give it a go.

Any help appreciated

When doing WOT logs, you would log the same parameters as you did for the steady cruise log. To get a good WOT log, you want to start from a dead stop if you can, or at least from as slow of a roll as possible. Then, just GET ON IT!! Pretend you're on a drag-strip, hammer-down and go for as long as you can, through as many gears as you can. BUT, BE SAFE!! And only do one good WOT run per log...

parameters you need to log are:

Air Fuel Ratio (Equivalence Ratio) = Under FUEL menu

Long Term fuel trim bank 1 = under FUEL menu

Long Term Fuel Trim Bank 2 = under FUEL menu

Spark Advance = under IGNITION menu

Intake air Temp = under INTAKE menu

MAF Sensor Mass Air Flow = under INTAKE menu

Total Knock Spark Retard (or just Knock Retard - for older vehicles that don't have the Total Knock Spark Retard parameter) =under MISFIRE menu

Engine Speed (RPM) = under PERFORMANCE menu

Commanded Throttle position (or Absolute Throttle Position - for older vehicles that don't have the Commanded parameter) = under THROTTLE menu

U7193 WOT PE Settings

Tks 06MonteeSS for the reply.

I will do my best to get a good WOT in on my data logging. The more I learn, and do the more of a comfort level I have in trying things with the Predator. I am starting to enjoy this.

I will put on a few more clicks 1st, as last night I adjusted the injector slope by -1. When I initially data logged slowly in 3rd gear DSLogredux suggested to adjust injector slope by -3. I later learned to data log in Drive, and fast log, and adjusted inj slope by -1.

After I data log again this time with Predator & Dataviewer, to get adjustment for WOT PE, should I adjust inj slope if DSLogRedux suggests another adjustment ?

Tks for all the help 06MonteSS I appreciate it. :)

do you have DOD on your truck?? if so, did you have it disabled when you were doing your cruising data logs in Drive???

and no, when you do a WOT log, don't worry about the slope/ltft's.... you only want to look at the WOT data.. or post the log up here and I can take a quick look at it for ya...

U7193 WOT PE Settings ?

Post by roentgen »

Good Morning 06MonteSS:

I will log the suggested parameters with the Dataviewer Software this AM via the Predator.

I do not have DOD, so that parts ok. Sure I will post the log for you, that's great.

Tks

U7193 WOT PE Settings ?

Post by roentgen »

Hi 06MonteeSS

Well I managed to log 2 runs with the Predator using Data Viewer. I have attached 2 .CSV files. The 1st one was heading North with a pretty good West cross wind, done from a full stop, stepping on it.

The 2nd .CSV file was heading South with the same rotten cross wind. I managed to stay on it longer with this run.

Pls take a look, and give a Newbie your opinion.

Once again Tks for all your help.

have you adjusted the PE fueling at all already, before this WOT log??

if not, then don't...

and if so, then put the settings back to 0....

and if your slope is set to -1 for ltft's, you could actually go another -1 so that your slope is at a total of -2%....

U7193 WOT PE

Post by roentgen »

Hello 06MonteeSS:

I hope the show was good.

I have only adjusted the LTFT's by -1, as suggested by DSLogRedux. I have not adjusted any PE fueling at all.

So I will go another -1 on the injection slope, for a total of -2. No Fueling PE at all in total.

That's pretty good then I assume. Only two adjustments of the injection slope, each in increments of -1 each time.

Tks for the advice. I still plan on dual exhaust next month. Single in Dual out. Should I data log again, and check ltft's, then data log with the dataviewer software to check WOT PE, after duals installed ?

Or should I simply leave things alone after the dual exhaust next month ?

if you're just changing mufflers, no need...

but if you're changing the pipe and everything back, then re-log after the install and re-check the ltfts...

Hello 06MonteSS

I am going to replace pipe with a 3", and new Muffler, to one 3" in, and two 2 1/4" out tail pipes. Apparrently the 5.3L needs/likes back pressure.

So I guess next month I will re-check once things installed, and check ltft's, and see if they need adjusted.

These adjustments should help with my towing of the TT, I think the two ltft adjustments have helped, as it seems to have a bit better throttle response already. It does pretty good for a 5.3L towing a near 6000lb trailer, the truck empty weighs about 5600lb, so any little bit of help I can give it, I will.

Tks for all your help.
