Do i need to install stock tune!!

Today i upgraded my revision on my U7191 to (8r08)
Now was i supposed to put the factory back up tune back in the predator
before i did this or not? 06/GTO/A4....

before updating the predator, you should restore your original backup to your car first...

if you did not do that, I believe you have now lost your original backup that was saved on the Predator...

I think if you install a new tune over the Predator tune currently in memory, that (old Predator) tune then becomes your backup. I put stock tune back in before I uploaded the rev. So stock tune remains my backup.

If you did not reatore first, you may need to give me a call to frce the backup.

OK, I think I just made the same mistake. Should have looked @ the forums before I started messing... One thing I did do when I first plugged my Predator to my PC, I was trying to find the right program to perform the update and I was asked if I wanted to back up my "factory tune" to my PC - so I did. Did that help me avert trouble?
By the way, I have an '06 GTO, 6spd, U7191 Predator

No, you need to apply the stock tune to the PCM, not the PC.
If you cannot get the tool to work, give us a call with the tool powered up in the car.

Just came back from my car. Plugged in my Predator, everything normal. "Restored to factory back up", car starts, idles as normal. Loaded in "91 octane tune", car starts and idles normal. Serial # displayed on tuner shows the new revision #. can I go out and drive it now with a clear mind, or is it still possible I have ruined something???
