08 GMC SIERRA. PREDATOR/SLP QUESTION

Hi, im new here. Great site!!

Im looking to purchase the Diablo Predator for my 08 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L from SLP performance. I already have their full exhaust and intake systems on my truck.

They have some special tune download on their diablos. They also cost about 500 dollars.

What is your opinion on the SLP model versus just buying one a tuning myself.

Ive seen the diablo predators for as low as 329. Is it worth the extra 170 to go with the SLP tune?

Their tune is ideally set up to go right out of the box, but if you're willing to put some time in to it, you can likely achieve the same results.

no need to spend the extra on the slp version... the same thing (and even better!) can be accomplished with the regular 7194 model diablosport predator and getting a custom tune for it.

you can get predators for even less than that... $299

and make sure you also get the usb pc interface kit as well, so that you'll be able to download data logs to your Windows pc, import/export tune files, etc etc.

I got 250 in my predator and the custom tune from 06MonteSS. I have only gotten 40 miles on the custom tune Lew did last night, but I can see and feel a deffinate difference. RPM's are lower, fuel mileage increased per the DIC (mine is actually accurate), and a SOP hp feel. The throttle response is hella better. I cant wait to get more mileage on it and let Lew dial it in better. Also, you should check out Lew's tune page. 100 bux for a custom tune plus changes in the future...... I have an 08 Sierra 6.0

The cost is $100 for a custom tune...

If I have to take my vehicle to the dealer for warranty work. I know you just put the stock calibrations back in. But cant they tell now if you have been in there by the "calibration verification number" CVN.

Anyone had any experience with this, or any problems with factory warranty work after they installed a custom tune.?

This is not an issue with the Predator or Trinity.
