U7193
New revision
Trucks a 2004 Sierra with 5.3 and 4x4 if that matters. I was just messing around/ recording some data on laptop was wondering what amount if any of knock retard is common in these trucks and at what common rpms etc..

For example at 2516 rpm at 20mph it was showing .7031 on knock retard..
Accelerator Pedal Position: 13.79%
Spark advance: 23 deg

Sorry if this is a dumb question I just didnt think it should be pulling timing at those low rpms.

I installed the "diablo tune" i think. The top one in the list. Running 93 octane in truck.

Thanks alot

sure it would... all depends on engine load...

and if you look at the timestamp in the data log, it probably only lasted for hundredths of a second... and it's only 0.7031... nothing at all to worry about...

I checked out the time it last a good 9 seconds starting at around 1.5 degrees then down to .870 then back to 0*. This is all at 70mph and 1900-2050 rpms im guessing it was just pulling itself up a hill since you said engine load has that effect.

yeah, log data looks ok... but that knock just shows up... definitely something with your truck...

do another log and log the parameters for the cylinder misfires...

have you replaced the plugs/wires ???

Trucks getting transmission rebuilt so ill have to do that later this week but I did notice some misfires at idle when I was watching it, didnt have computer so logs on the pred. but its still in my truck... Ill check/replace plugs and wires and see if it helps. I replaced both knock sensors about a year ago so hopefully those are still good. Thanks for your help man, I wish there were some place or instructions I could check out to see what the different PIDs are in detail and what normal readings look like to compare/ troubleshoot on my own. So if that exist, let me know ;) Thanks again
