U7198 - WOT log and adjustment

Post by ruben6669 »

Hello, I have a 2002 Pontiac T/A and I am using a U7198 9rxx and I am trying to adjust some parameters for an improved WOT but dslog redux does not support the handheld unit's log due to no "air to fuel ratio" will live streaming to a laptop fix this problem? would the recommendation provided by logredux be used for the adjustments? I also have a pair of "off-road" headers and no cats and a pair of O2 simulators set up in the rear, but I am showing trouble codes P0410 and P0412, can this exhuast setup be the cause of that?

based on your cruising log file... you need to go -4% on your injector slope setting...

then for WOT/PE fueling settings, go -2% in all rpm ranges.

and those codes are for:

P0410 Sec Air Inj Sys Error

P0412 Sec Air Inj Sys Switching Valve A Circ Error

have you removed the A.I.R. system from the car???

you'll need to get a custom tune created in order to disable the codes/CEL...

thanks lew for the help. no i have not taken out the A.I.R. System but I am the second owner and maybe it is off. the problem is that I don't where it is located. any help would be appreciated.

so the fact that i have a set of long tube headers, no catalytic converters, and rear O2 simulators has nothing to do with it?

where or with whom, can i get a custom tune to remove the codes?

yep, the lt headers, no cats, has everything to do with it...

stock, there are usually sensors that are in the manifolds for the AIR system... and when the headers were put on, apparently those were just totally removed...

you'll need to export copies of your original backup tune file, and the "last tune written" tune file (which is a copy of the diablo tune you installed to your car)...

export them from the predator to your PC... then post them up here, and a custom tune will be whipped up for ya to disable those trouble codes..

;)

here ya go man.... if you get new codes thrown, lemme know and I'll update the tune file... but this tune will disable the 410 and 412 codes you were getting...

you'll need to save that custom tune file to your PC and load that custom tune into your Predator/Trinity, so...

Importing a custom tune into the Predator/Trinity:

1. Connect the Predator/Trinity to the PC and power it up.... then open up the DSDownloader

2. Let the DSDownloader auto connect to the tool.

3. On the DSDownloader press the "send tune file to tool" button.

4. You will get a new window asking you to select the file for importing.

5. Browse through your PC to find where you saved the custom tune file, and click it once to highlight it, then click "open".

6. If this is the first time you are sending a tune to the Predator/Trinity, you will get a new window saying "a valid base file could not be found". So you need to click "Yes". (the "base file" is the copy of your original backup tune file that you saved to your pc before.)

7. Now, browse your folders or desktop to look for the copy of your "original backup" tune file you saved before, and click it once to highlight it - then click "open".

8. The DSDownloader will automatically compare these files to determine if they are the same size and of the same calibration.

9. Once it determines the files are OK, it will import the custom tune file to the Predator/Trinity. This will all happen very fast, usually in under 10 seconds.

10. The DSDownloader will tell you that the import was successful, and the Predator/Trinity screen will show/flash "import OK". (this occurs quickly on the Predator/Trinity screen, so you may not see the message.)

11. You may now unhook the Predator/Trinity and go to the vehicle to install the custom tune.

READ "** IMPORTANT NOTE" BELOW BEFORE INSTALLING TO YOUR VEHICLE!

====================================================================
====================================================================

** IMPORTANT NOTE: your Predator/Trinity may prompt you to say that you are changing tunes, and then ask you if you want to "Reset All Parameters?" - make sure you answer/select YES to this question to reset the parameters that you adjusted before. The changes you made yourself before are already in the custom tune, since you copied it out of your car ("last tune written) to send to the tuner. If you select NO, then it will apply your previous adjustments on top of the adjustments that are already in the tune, and it will get ugly. So, if/when it asks you to "Reset all parameters?" - make SURE that you answer/select YES!

You can also still modify the custom tune just like any of the performance tunes.

Do the install just like any other performance tune, and you're good to go with your new custom tune.
