2006 silverado TM

Post by manny »

I just recently purchased predator U-7192 for a 2006 silverado 4.8L. I installed the performance tune and modified parameters to correct the speedo for 20 inch wheels. I have felt a significant increase in power but there seems be that sluggish feelling of the start from the TM. I tried to on modify tune on "TM abuse mode" and installed it on both options on/off and I felt no difference with either tune. How do i get rid of the TM???

If you felt no difference, it generally means that there is no TM in your way even with it on.
We do remove a % of TM in the tunes.
The sluggishness is likely attributed to the extra weight of your 20"wheels.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. You think changing the ring and pinion to a 3.73 will help out the sluggishness? how much HP and TQ does the predator increase on the 4.8L ?

getting the fueling right will also help with this issue... need to get the fuel trims correct for part throttle/normal driving, and also the WOT PE fueling...

well... start with whatever Diablo Predator tune you installed... then before we make any adjustments, we need to get some real time data numbers...

it doesn't appear that your specific Predator is able to save logs, so you'll need to have someone ride along with you to write down the numbers.

start up the real time data on the Predator - so that you can view the info on the Predator screen... and we need to select/write down the numbers for:

air fuel ratio
commanded throttle position
engine speed (this shows us rpm)
long term fuel trim bank 1
long term fuel trim bank 2
oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1
oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1
spark advance
total knock spark retard

get a log of normal driving/cruise with at least 20-25% throttle position, then we also need a section of WOT runs.

you can email me at:

lewis DOT eaton AT gmail DOT com

do you have any IM programs?? if so, email me your screenname and I'll get you added to my tuning list, and we can communicate info quicker...

Thanks, I'll be getting back to you soon it!!! From reading the forums it seems you've helped some other GM guys all with this problem. Another thing that seems to be lacking on GM is i guess a rev limiter set for example when you press the brake and gas from a start it only revs up to 1500rpm with the diablo to 1800rpm but not enough to spin the tires. Is there any way to get rid of that or extend that rev limiter???
