2004 Duramax - tranny slips in 85hp mode

Post by str1249 »

I have loaded all the different programs into my truck over time (I bought this unit in '05), and it has worked great in all modes up until recently.
Any time I use the 85hp program, the tranny slips like crazy, in "regular", "tow" or "no OD" mode. Any suggetions?
Is it possible some of the program in 85hp got damaged?
Is it possible to get the unit checked/reprogrammed?

Is the tranny slipping or is it going into limp mode?

Same issue

We have had the same issue on a customer's truck (2004 LB7) after the predator is installed on Towing, and he is towing anything (even an empty trailer), the tranny shifts irregularly and slips between gears. Take the program out and everything seems normal.

I just got my predator back yesterday and loaded the 85 hp program. I was driving it back to work, about 180 miles and when I was almost there, I went to pass a truck. When I got on it, it limped. I got the P0700 code, and after I cleared it a few times it went away. But from what I can tell from other guys I know, it will limp alot easier now that it has happened.

I backed down to the 65 hp tune now in hopes that it will help.

may want to look into freshening the tranny, new fluid/filter.
