Well I certainly hope someone can help me here, and I apologize for how long this is but I need some of your insight. I got a Diablosport Predator for my 2007 Dodge Ram Hemi 5.7L and have recently installed the 93 tune. The tune works great for the engine, however it screws up my stereo so it won't power up. Before you reply please read the lengthy details below.
First of all the deck is a aftermarket Pioneer Premier series and it is installed with plug and play wiring harness. The harness is quite unique if anyone else has installed a aftermarket head unit you'd know. The wiring harness has a special box inline from the factory wiring harness to the deck. Not sure what this does but I think it has something to do with the computer in the truck. So I go to install the tune and shut off everything in the truck that is powered, yes including the deck, however the deck does not totally power down because it still displays time and picture even though it is technically off.
So me and my buddy dump in the tune and it goes through it's normal cycles and the stereo actually totally powers down during the tune (goes blank) just for a moment and then starts back up. Then when you do the next key cycle it shuts off and that is it. I actually have to disconnect the wiring harness for a period of time, push the reset button on the stereos microprocessor (mini computer) several times and then it finally restarts.
So I thought it was a fluke the first time, then when I went to change a setting in the tune and dumped in the new tune it happened again. So it is not a fluke, it is somehow shutting the computer down inside the deck or in the computer of the truck so it isn't recognized when I turn on the key for power? I know this may sounds weird, maybe not???? Has anyone had any issues like this before?
(yes I could disconnect it before I do a tune mod, but I have to pull it out of the dash to do that and that sucks.)

Did we talk about this on the phone?
You're using some kind of CAN bus adapter for the stereo?
The reset is something we took from the factory flash process, so if the predator causes this, the same thing would happen with a dealer flash.
I have a feeling it may be something to do with that CAN interface thing...

RE: DiabloSport Tuner, is shutting down my stereo deck, why?
What brand and model number is the CAN bus interface? The Tuner shuts off my factory deck while it's writing the tune (The clock goes blank) but that would happen if the dealer flashed the car too. I am not sure that it is an issue with the CAN bus interface, I think it's more a case of the aftermarket deck does not like the power off cycles during the flash process. You might need to install an inline switch to turn off the master power for the deck before flashing the tune, then turn it back on. I had a windows XP full computer setup for a while and needed multiple interfaces to connect to the CAN bus and the steering wheel controls and my Amp and sbwoofers. I had to install a master shut off for a few reasons, flashing a tune was one of them.
I dunno, just a guess.

I think your both on the right track,,, here is the info I got off the device. The special box is a Radio Replacement interface for Chrysler CAN BUS vehicles. The brand is Scosche and model is DCCR03SRB, it is for 2005 and up vehicles, it also had a second sticker on the side that said 230CHYAH05 Rev.1.4.20a
Now the question is, is their a fix for this? Maybe contact Scosche and see if you can write in the correct stuff into the programs for this, or is that not possible?
Thanks for your help guys, it is frustrating to say the least, I did have it in to the dealer to turn on the fog lights full time and nothing happened but not sure that they had to flash it to do that because it only took him seconds to plug in the hand held adjust what he needed to then unplugged it. This was done before the Predator, and I had no issues after... But like I said I don't think that was a full flash, unless theirs is that fast.
Mikel:
I am not blaming the tuner, I am just looking to see if we can fix it. Also I did not call you on this, my Buddy may have but he didn't say anything to me about it. Again thanks for all your help guys, maybe we can get this to work???????? Then I don't have to tear apart the dash every time or add a switch.

I hear ya. I'm not a fan of the Scosche brand of electronic products. I prefer the PAC-Audio brand as they seem to have the better products for the job at hand. I have had good service from them too. Pioneer might be able to help as well but I have never needed to call their customer support line so I couldn't say for sure.
Pioneer Customer Support:

PAC-Audio for 2007 RAM:

Sorry to the Mods if I'm not supposed to post external links.
Hope this helps you out

Fordomatic69: Do you really think that changing the radio replacement interface from a scosche to a PAC would help? Looking at the two side by side I really don't see any difference but a name and price. I do see that scosche has a new one out for 2007 and up now. However when I bought the truck they did not. I actually had to get this from a local best buy store as no one else had anything at the time. I am going to email scosche and see what they say. Thanks for your help...

Well here is what I received from Scosche today. Very interesting to say the least, I have not tried it yet but I am sure this may come up again for you in the future so here is the info you may need to pass along. Again thanks for your help guys.....
Greetings Craig,
There is a process you can try doing which is have all the doors closed, keys out of ignition, and make sure all the lights are off in the vehicle. Once that has happen unplug the interface wait 1 minute and plug it back in, and then turn the truck on. This is a complete reset to allow our interface to get familiar with the factory computer letting it know when to turn on or off. If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to contact us.
Thanks

I have a Directed Electronics alarm and a JVC head unit connected through a PAC CAN bus adapter; all installed by a pro shop in my 2009 Challenger R/T.
I had the same symptoms you describe. I also had the alarm refuse to disarm while driving, setting off the siren while driving down the road.
They tried the reset on the CAN bus adapter, which worked for a while. Then it happened again.
It turns out that the alarm takes a signal from the same wire that powers the radio. When the radio went out, the alarm assumed the car was shut off and set the alarm on.
My cure came in the form of a new PAC adapter and changing the alarm's power sensor to a circuit separate from the radio. No trouble since then, about 3 months ago.
If you don't have an aftermarket alarm, you may just need a new CAN bus adapter.
P.S. The shop tried to blame the Predator too. After getting the adapter and wiring straightened out, the tune went back in and I have not had alarm or radio trouble since.
