Just programmed my Charger SRT8 using the canned program for CAI, 93 octane, and increased shift point. I'm very please with the performance increase as you can easily "feel" the power difference. I'm 57 and have been putting chips or reprogramming Vettes, Z28s, etc. for 30+ years. The DiabloSport product clearly does add significant power.
More important, the DiabloSport program finally got rid of those nasty fuel cutoffs at the factory set shift points. Even a re-program (TSB) at the dealer could not fix the issue. With the DiabloSport, when you raise the shift points, you also increase the WOT fuel cutoff to BEYOND the shift point. Thus...NO shutdown between shifts and some satisfying chirps from the rear tires instead!
Thanks for engineering a product that actually works as advertised.

RE: Comments on CAI, 93 octane, plus shift point increases
Does raising the WOT shift points effect when it shifts in "drive" or "autostick" or both? My car shifts at a higher rpm in "autostick" that it does in "drive". Currently my shift points are "stock". Thanks for any input...

That's interesting. What are the shift points? On my '06 SRT8 the "drive" and "autostick" WOT shift points are the same. Raised or not raised.HemiThunder wrote:Does raising the WOT shift points effect when it shifts in "drive" or "autostick" or both? My car shifts at a higher rpm in "autostick" that it does in "drive". there should be no option to raise shift points in any 09-10 models due to the tcm limiter.HemiThunder wrote:Does raising the WOT shift points effect when it shifts in "drive" or "autostick" or both? If it shifts higher in auto stick it would be part of the factory programming, but it is not something I have seen...

RE: Re: RE: Comments on CAI, 93 octane, plus shift point inc
With my 2006 Charger SRT8...using the U7135...the Shift Points were raised in both auto and autostick. The best advantage of raising the shift points is...for people like me (disabled) who mostly run the vehicle in auto/drive...is that you AVOID those nasty fuel cutoffs, which are hard on the engine and transmission. Also, increase the shift firmness to take full advantage of the higher rpms. Now, my 2006 has an awesome second gear lunge...and 3rd is improved. For the newer models...Dodge is having trouble with the SRT8 engines banging the Mercedes 5-speed trans...hence no control. I suspect that when Dodge releases the 6.4l SRT8 in 2011...they will have either beefed up the 5-speed or (more likely) replaced with a 6-speed. Take care, Phil

The 5 speed is rated for 738ft/lbs. Theres absolutely no reason we should be having problems with them. But we are, and they're like impossible to get. Last thing I heard they were nationally backordered.
That said, they're saying the new 8 speed will be in the next gen LXs. I'm not seeing it. Mercedes can't get their 7 speed to be as strong as the NAG1 5 speed, how the hell is Fiat gonna do it with the 8 speed?

Not Fiat...ZF. They've been at the forefront of tranny technology forever...
