2004 GTO - P0141 Error

Post by ookoz »

Hello, i have a 04 6 speed GTO with CAI and diablo performance tune. I was under the impression the tune would disable these codes from coming on and it did, but it keeps coming back after a few miles of driving.

Ive had a shop look at the sensor and they said everything is fine so I just want to disable the code permanently.

Any help would be appreciated

Shop said sensor looked ok (wiring) or performed ok? If wiring is ok I'd suspect the sensor is bad.

Or if you have a different exhaust and moved the o2 sensor that could affect it I think

i have stock exhaust. they tested the sensor and replaced it just to make sure so its for sure a working sensor. They said they could send and receive info(whatever that means) but I would have to take my car to the pontiac dealership so they can erase the code from my computer

You cant clear the code with your predator? I also have an 04 GTO 6 speed, and I have the SLP (7199) predator and I can scan and clear DTC's. If they can see the code on their scanner, I'm surprised they cant clear it too.
A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

open or short to ground in the wiring harness
O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
O2 heater element resistance is high
Internal short or open in the heater element

Or see if 06montess can hook you up with a tune that will disable it for you

I dunno. Either fix the sensor or get a tune that disables that code.

If the wiring is fine, it must be a bad sensor/heater element.
