If you think of anything I could try, I'm all ears. Plus, I don't love that the WMS is a 91 octane, why isn't it a 93? Seems goofy to me.
You're not seeing my point.

Anyone will tell you that if the car has an issue, another tune or tuner is not going to fix it.

I would HATE to see you waste money to buy another tuner, when it is most likely an issue with the car itself.

The 91 tune is there as not everyone has acces to 93 octane, you can add 2* of global spark to the tune to optimize it for 93 octane if you choose.

demotjar. Please listen to Mike. He specifically stated that you have an air leak somewhere on the intake. It could also be caused by an exhaust leak.

If you do not know what a vacuum leak is or how to find one, then you should not be installing an air intake or exhaust onto your car and you should have the car looked at by a shop.

Did you install the parts yourself? Did you install the exhaust and intake at the same time? Have you checked to make sure all of the intake parts are properly tightened and that there is no air leak in between the air sensor and throttle body?

The tune made for the WMS 80mm intake is well proven and spot-on. They literally hook-up the intake to a flow bench, then dyno test the tune made, and then road test it. The tune you are using has then been on other cars around the country for years so, its not the tuner and an SCT tuner with a custom tune will not fix a vacuum leak.

ah, i just found something out. I emailed the WMS guy, cause in fairness I really don't know what's on the car, just taking the sellers word. Turns out I have a 95mm WMS. I'm going to have Eric Brooks <[email protected]> do a custom tune for me instead of buying the SCT. Do you know anything about Eric's tuning ability?

As for installation -- no, if you read the mustangforum post I originally reference you'll note that I'm just getting into this. I just bought the car "as is". I have no personal knowledge about what's on it. Just taking sellers word. Turns out the seller is not to knowledgeable either unfortunately. So working through it. You don't happen to have a 95mm tune on hand do you?

Just went and tried the $75 dollar tune from Eric -- and everything seems good. I can't say I notice any power increase, but is running better/smoother and no check eng light so thank you very very much to all you guys and to Mr. Brooks! Case closed.
