Help: original backup not saved
03 SRT-4 Stage 3
trinity t1000
I tried to restore my original backup on my SRT today and it says that the original backup was never saved. My last tune on the car was the 93 octane tune that i had been modifying. I decided to start from scratch today on my own tune but when i went to apply the original backup it says that has not been saved or has already been backed up. I know that i have not backed it up though. I looked under the calid and the vin and nothing shows up on the unit. I did save the original backup to my laptop.
When i tried to install the stage 3 tune i saved (original backup) the unit attempts to get another original backup. This causes it to fail with a message: the original backup will not be saved as it is a trinity tune, then the unit resets. Is there a way to force the original backup back on to the pcm???

No.
Was there some swapping of the PCM involved here?
I feel like there is more to this story?

I did plug in the old pcm to erase a trouble code on it but no performance modifications were made on it. That shouldn't kick out the backup though right?

RE: Re: RE: Help: original backup not saved
so is there any way to get the original backup back on the car at all?
Re: RE: Re: RE: Help: original backup not saved
So you didn't do any tune flashing before or after you erased the code on the "old" PCM?calicustom wrote:I did plug in the old pcm to erase a trouble code on it but no performance modifications were made on it. That shouldn't kick out the backup though right?
State EXACTLY what you did in the process of erasing the code.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Help: original backup not saved
no i did go in the performance section to check it out and see if the menus had changed at all... no modifications were made to the pcm though. it did show me the vin number of my car which is correct, it then took me to another screen which only gave me one option to accept ( i do not remember what the screen said though). I did not accept it, i just unplugged the unit and then plugged it back in. double checked the code was gone and swapped back to the stage 3 pcm. before i had attempted the original backup on it the vin screen popped up again and it was my vin so i hit ok and that is where the problems began.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Help: original backup not saved
So both PCMs have been flashed with your VIN?
And your story is that you supposedly have the 93tune on the S3 PCM but the Trinity doesn't think so,,,, right?
So whats the big deal if you went ahead and load(or according to you 'reload') the 93tune on the S3?

This is a friend of mine I can confirm that he has both a S3 pcm and a stage 0 pcm. Both of these are his and are for his car. Not sure exactly what happened because I was not there, but he could use your guys help for sure.

It's been a while and no suggestions, I guess I am stuck with a 93 octane tune with parameters I can no longer adjust then?
