I have a Trinity that I bought for my Magnum, and I'm taking a trip with the truck and decided to try it out. I reprogrammed stock file into the Magnum and changed the vehicle type to the truck on the Trinity and hooked it up. I now have an error message that says "Unable to read vehicle type (1). Please make sure ignition is ON and the engine is NOT running" then it told me to disconnect the batts for 30 sec and try again. Did that. No go. No Calid, nothing. What to do?

Thats odd, try options/troubleshooting/show calid and see if it will read the calid.
Also, make sure the connector on the Trinity is plugged in firmly.

I tried to call yesterday, I was on hold for 22 minutes. I finally gave up, looks like I'll be sticking with the Smarty for the truck I leave in the morning. Thanks, not.

If the tool is unable to read the vehicles calid, then there is definitely a communication issue between the trinity and your vehicles pcm. What time did you call yesterday? Our hold times aren't usually that long. If you want to give us a try back today sometime, I'm sure that we can get you squared away.
Thanks for your patience,

Sorry about my comment yesterday I was frustrated, I suspect that it being Monday morning everyone was calling in from the weekend just like me.
OK, I am at a loss. After giving up yesterday, I reinstalled the Smarty tune in the truck with no problems, drove it and came home. This morning I got the most recent message. I thought okay, I will try one more time before I call. I went out, uninstalled the Smarty tune and proceeded with Trinity one more time, I did everything same as yesterday and boom, hook up, no probs. I don't know what happened yesterday or why it wouldn't link up but there was no problems today. Is there a chance that maybe the Smarty didn't completely uninstall last time and me reprogramming and uninstalling fixed the communication error? Thanks, No really, Thank you. lol
P.S. I look forward to seeing the comparison between the Smarty and Trinity.
