Updating Predator for 2002 GT - couple questions

I have the U7146 tuner and it has never been updated, do I just update with the latest revision? What are the specs on the serial to USB cable I need? Also, when connected to PC it is necessary to plug the Predator into an outlet using a 12v 1amp power supply?

Yes, simply update to the latest revision.

Yes, it will need to be plugged into 12V at the PC.

What size serial to usb cable do I need, I don't feel like take my Predator to Staples and fitting.
