Reward: Help me find my lost power 6.0
I have a 2006 F250 6.0. I returned my truck to stock last fall and kept it that way throughout the winter (icy roads up north). This spring I went to install the 100hp tune and it would not recognize my truck. I did have it in for warranty work over the winter, so I assume they flashed their most recent updates. I installed the most recent updates for my predator and was able to install the 100hp tune.
Problem is, the power was not much different than the stock tune. I had ARP headbolts installed last summer, and last week they installed a brand new turbo in the truck. I reinstalled the 100 hp tune again, and I am still not getting power much different than stock.
I have a factory boost guage in the truck. Sometimes when I step on it the guage will not go beyond 19, and other times it will go just above 20...I would guess about 22.
In stock tune I used to be able to get 23-24 pounds and with the 100hp tune it would go higher than that.
I have read a bunch of the discussions and it appears everyone is running into the same problem.
It seems my turbo won't boost to where it used to. During idle I also notice a changing tone in the exhaust.
Is there anyone that can help me figure out this problem. The lost power is depressing.
Thank you.

You are right. It is a common problem. They say they are working on it...how hard is the question! I know they are a busy company so I can imagine they are having a hard time getting to this but this has been going on for a couple of months.
Come on Diablo Sport make a couple hundred customers happy and fix this problem with the 6.0!!!

Guys, we ARE working on this issue as i type this. It's taking us a little more time than expected as Ford kinda threw us a curveball on this one. I can't give an exact date on when it will be completed but when it is, I'm sure you guys will love it!!!

No, i don't work here.

:evil:Vas,
:
Mikel is saying this will not happen so who are we to beleive as Diablosport will not confirm this one way or another?
I bought my tool and have had one weeks worth of use out of it and that was over 8 months ago are you people going to offer a refund or free upgrade seems that would be the fair thing to do?
But when are you people going to man up and give us a truthfull answer if you are going to support the FICM programming or tell us what we need to do to fix the problem and stop saying WE ARE WORKING ON IT????????????
And yes I am getting very irritated..................

What do you mean, are you saying your Predator will not even flash the tunes to the truck?
I have boldly stated Predator will not support FICM, not sure what else I can say about that.
We have been developing tunes to see if we can get around it, and it appears we can not. There is some room for improvement, but not like it was prior to the new VXCF9 cals.

No I am not saying that the tool will not flash the PCM and I am sure you know that!mikel wrote:What do you mean, are you saying your Predator will not even flash the tunes to the truck?

I am saying that the tool does not perform as to what I was sold and what Diablosport says the tool will do as far as HP and fuel mileage and you can look at the threads here in these forums and this has been going on for a long time with the only reply from Diablo "we are working on it"
I have also asked many times what we as the customers can do to correct the problem and again no answer...........
THERE IS HARDLY ANY MORE POWER THAN STOCK AND THE FUEL MILEAGE IS WORSE THAN STOCK ON ANY OF THE TUNES.
With that said what use is the tool to the people you sell it to?
I have been looking for a solution to the problem for a long time and I think we all deserve a straight answer as I am sure you know what can be done to get these 6.0's back to what they used to be????????????????????
Am I asking to much to get what I paid for????
How about a little help here to get the power and mileage back.........
Thanks for your time,
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Reward: Help me find my lost power 6
Well I guess this is as straight of an answer as we are going to get. I don't recall you "boldly" stating that the predator will not support FICM. What I do recall is "we're working on it" and Vas saying that we would "love" the fix that was supposedly in the works. I bought this tool brand new in late February and now you are telling us that it will not support the programs needed to back up Diablo's claims of improved power and mileage. I can understand someone having a tool for years and it becoming outdated. The problem is that you are still selling them. This is BS! I would like Diablo to a) Admit that this problem can not be correctly resolved with this tool so that people who have VXCF9 won't waste their money on it to start with. b) Buy this 3.5 month old tool back from me or take the price I paid for the predator off of a tool that will ACTUALLY work on my vehicle, and has enough memory for actual updates. I mean enough memory to flash every computer in the truck if it needs to - weather it actually does at that time or not! As I said, since I bought this in February, it has made NO difference to my fuel economy, and a hardly noticible difference in power on my truck. I would have returned it then, but I kept hearing that a fix was in the works. Now you are telling me that the tool doesnt have enough memory. It has been too long for me to return it. What can I do with this thing now? I would like a straight answer. I think I have been pretty patient considering that it has not really "worked" since I bought it. Thank you in advance for your response.mikel wrote:What do you mean, are you saying your Predator will not even flash the tunes to the truck?

What they really mean is they could care less about existing customers. They seem to be worried about devloping new tuners for different vehicles and not supporting the existing customers. I first called about this issue in February and was told that there was no problem. I have not put my comments on here because I wanted to give them a fair chance to fix the issue. Almost 5 months later and we still have no fix. I have decided to go with a different tuning company that has resolved this issue and seems to care or atleast acts like they care. I hope that they do fix the issue for all of you who choose not buy a different tuner. At one time I did not feel that there was a better tuner on the market, but unfortunately I cannot say the same now. I know that I am one person and my opinions are my own, but I have sat silently a patiently long enough. I will no longer recommend the predator or diablo to anyone I know.

jesus guys take it easy car companies have a TEAM of overpaid engineers that spend MILLIONS of dollars coding making it hard to interract with ecus the least u could is bare with diablo... they acknowledge the issue let them work ..
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Reward: Help me find my
WOW. This all sounds to familiar. I thought I would pop in here on the Ford side of things only to hear the same things I am going through on the GM side. Were working on it. Were working on it. I as well will not recommened Diablo to any one who wants a tool that will work as advertised. Good luck to you guys as I have not had much here.
