93 Octane Tune for 2010 Camaro SS where are limiters

Post by calbert »

I'm new to this and quite excited as I just received my Trinity earlier today.

There were only (2) tunes available to me for the 2010 Camaro 6.2L, Manual transmission.

Diablo Tune
91 Octane

I have a few questions, probably easy ones.

1. I chose the Diablo tune, but don't know what that means. Is that the 93 Octane tune?

2. Next I plan to dowload the latest firmware, is there a 93 Octane tune in that updates?

3. Also, looked through the PID can't find my make / model vehicle, how can I do a log of all the PID's for my vehcile? I would then use the viewer to check it out, and is there a detailed source to understand the PID's, dependancies and reactions when changed?

4. Quick tutor: Where can I find out the status of the variuos limiters? Specifically, I'm convinced there is an RPM and Speed limiter on the 2010 Camaro SS. Can I manually check and turn them off, post 93 Octane tune (if I can figure out where to find it)?

Sorry, about all the questions but I'm sure it's going to take me a lot of time to figure this all out, in the meantime I would like some quick wins, to get me started using the investment.

yes, that is correct... there are only two tunes for the camaro... the diablo tune for 93 octane gas, and the 91 octane tune...

1. Diablo Tune is the 93 octane gas tune...

2. yes, it's still called the Diablo tune ;)

3. http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... ic&t=21175 and http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... opic&t=917

4. speed limiter is set in the tunes already - there is no end-user adjustable parameter for that. there is a Rev Limiter (Rev Limit in Drive) parameter that you can use to adjust the rev limiter. hook up the trinity to your car, select the same diablo tune that you installed before, then select Modify Tune... scroll down and select the parameters you want to change, press ENTER to save the change, then press the BACK button until it asks you "Install tune now?" - select YES and it will reinstall the diablo tune with the changes/adjustments you just made to it.

Fabulous. One more question before I make some changes.

Once I update the device is the new Diablo tune different than the original tune?

No, the tune for the Camaro has not changed since the first release.

Rev. Limiter in Drive. Should this be reduced or increased. I want to be able to rev. higher not lower. You can decrese or increase not sure which way to go. Also, can't it be turned "OFF" all together?

you need to increase it if you want to be able to go higher...

no, can't be OFF altogether... would have to be done in a custom tune, to set it to a limit that you'd never hit...

in the trinity, you can just raise it as high as it will let you...
