2006 Charger R/T - predator dead ? U7135
2006 Chrarger R/T - predator dead ? U7135 . revision - as good as i can remember since it wont boot , was 9r12 . I was not updating the CROM or anything else when I had this problem , I was in the middle of booting the predator in the car to switch to 91 CAI tune , it hit the screen after boot where it says Checking ..... Then it froze at about 25% eventually the screen went blank, although still seems powered up. I had to unplug it because I had to get to work , and now it doesn't boot , just come up bank green screen. Is there a reset procedure to try ? Since the backup is tied to the device if I sent it in , or bought a trinity without flashing my car back to stock (because I can't now ) does that mean I have to not only buy another device but also pay dealer to flash it back to stock ? Is there any hope ? Should I try hooking it up to the PC ? (where is the backup original tune on the pc because the downloader doesn't act there is one - uh oh ). I am original owner , bought from this site, so I am scrambling trying to find the receipt .

If you got a new trinity, we could make it work, or you could send the pred in for repair.

So i guess theres really no reset to try. Bummer. I think I read that it takes like 6 weeks for repair , is that pretty avg for the time ( I ask because one of the reasons I was trying putting in the tune was that she was running so rough). And 6 weeks is a long time to be avoiding driving her.

Oh I forgot to ask , if I send it in for repair don't I have to flash the car back to stock first? ( which I can't do). I may not even have the stock tune on this new pc it's been forever since I plugged into a pc. Does that mean I'm hosed no matter what if my stock tune is only on the dead device?

The good news is I found my receipt , going to start the RMA process. The bad news - cannot find the backup of my stock tune think it was on my old PC . So what happens when i get the new device or the old one fixed with the stock gone off it ? Do I have to take it to the dealer to have it flashed before I can use the new/repaired device ?

I am confused...are you starting with a new trinity or no?
If not, get the pred in here so we can check it out asap.

Sorry for any confusion. Going to have the predator repaired since I found the receipt and still in warranty . Predator is on the way . But how can the new / repaired device work (when it comes back) if I don't have the stock tune backup anymore and its not in the car , its currently stuck on 91 CAI ?

Dont worry about it, once you get the tool back, give us a call with it plugged into the car and we'll fix it up.
