Sure...send me a free right angle cable. :)
It'll be cheap. I'm in Florida on the west coast

Well they better not hold their breath on me ever buying another one of their products. I can't believe I dumped $600 bucks into this thing and not be able to use it as intended & advertised. There are several other functions/features that are pure vaporware (at least for the 2010 Challenger).

Personally I would prefer just to get my money back, but where I bought it from won't take it back. Guess it is time to dump it on e-bay. I'm sorry, but I feel I shouldn't have to be building my own cable and other such nonsense.

so is this a problem that i need to worry about???

I was disconnecting the dang cord from the trinity to prevent the battery from draining and i ended up screwing up the connector in the trinity. It took 3 months to get it fixed and i should have my trinity back tomorrow. but i dont want to drain my battery and I dont want to break another connector.

so, IS THIS A PROBLEM I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT????

bump...
seems like an easy thing to check. once i get my trinity back tomorrow, ill be installing headers so i can play with the O2 sensors and see if there is any power to it.

HarrisonZ wrote:If you wire the Trinity up on the relay like suggested, and you got to program the car, when you cycle the key on and off, won't it shut down the Trinity also and jack up the tuning process?
That seems like a very good point. You'd have to leave it toggled on while loading/adjusting the tune.

I just ordered one of these and a wideband 02 sensor. Wish I would have read this first! Glad I'm reading it now I guess.....it'll be here Monday.

Well I post this here cause I just had this happen to me today as well. Killed my battery thank god I was still at home too when that happened. Would look sad needing a jump start in a parking lot on a 2010 Challenger.
My question that I asked in the general section was can I just install the tune with the tool and then take the tool out and leave it at home and drive the car without it? Seems a real pain to keep disconnecting the unit every time I park the car. Or does the unit have to always be in the car hooked up when driving it? I look every where in the instructions and it tells me all about hooking it up but not storing it away etc.

Yes, you do not have to leave the unit in the vehicle to keep the tune in the car.

Thanks! Much appreciated! I have a new right-angle cable, and my new gauge pod A-pillar and Trinity mount... Monday, I'll modify the cable, install the gauge pod and Trinity, and not worry any more about draining my battery...

Now, if Diablosport could just figure out how to display oil temp on the Trinity...

Drawing of connector on car

Remember, looking at cable connector the pinout is opposite

8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
16 15 14 13 12 11 10 9

Pin 1 - Black
Pin 2 - Brown without stripe
Pin 3 - Red without stripe
Pin 4 - Bare stranded wire - Chassis Ground
Pin 5 - Orange
Pin 6 - Yellow
Pin 7 - Green
Pin 8 - Blue
Pin 9 - Purple
Pin 10 - Grey
Pin 11 - White
Pin 12 - Pink
Pin 13 - Light Green
Pin 14 - Light Blue
Pin 15 - Brown with white stripe
Pin 16 - Red with white stripe - Battery Power

Now to order a new right angle cable.

Here's what I came up with (thanks to Tigwelder for doing all the research). I used a submini switch from Radio Shack, spliced wires into the red wire with the white stripe, and ran them back to the switch, which I glued to the connector, and insulated everything with epoxy. I tried it out, and it works (switches the Trinity on and off) but it remains to be seen if this will keep the battery from draining...

On the Challengertalk forums, folks are experiencing the same issues with the Innovate wide band air-fuel ratio meters, which mount a separate O2 sensor into the exhaust pipe... the Innovate is draining their batteries, too. They theorize that any OBDII connector hooked to the port keeps the computer "active", draining the battery. Innovate is looking into the issue, too...

Sorry to hear about your surgery... hope you're feeling better soon!

Got my Razor's Edge A-pillar gauge pod and pod mount for Trinity installed today, and I'm not happy. The Razor's Edge A-pillar doesn't match the roofline of the interior, leaving a HUGE gap. The pod sits WAY low on the pillar, forcing the Trinity to rest, crookedly, against the dash... Gotta return it for a refund, or have them make me one that sits higher up.

More to the point, though, it was hard fitting the right-angle connector to the OBDII port with the cable run underneath the dash mat. It forces the insulation down a bit, making it bulge. Cutting the 12V line and installing the switch successfully cuts the power to the Trinity, but it remains to be seen whether keeping the cable hooked up to the OBDII connector still keeps the ECU running and still drains the battery... 24 hours and I still have a battery...

More later...

Battery drain is fixed in this update.

Under the options menu, there is a new param called 'change monitoring sleep'

Load this incremental, reselect your vehicle from the options/change vehicle type menu, then go to options/change monitoring sleep and set it to 30 seconds. Done.
