I have a 91 ford mustang GT with at diablosport revolution chip. It was tuned by Paul's Automotive Engineering in Cincinnati Ohio last September. I change several things on the car this Winter and decided to take it back to have it re-tuned. By the way it is a 3 1/2 hour drive each way for me to get my car tuned. Anyway, after I got there they could tell it was hard to start warm and it would die after a run. They looked for my original tune and told me that they couldn't find it! And told me that there is no way for them to read it off of the chip? So basically I drove 7 hours for nothing but a dyno sheet. Luckily the A/F was good at WOT but the car is still hard to drive and start in town.
Is there any way to get the tune off of the chip? Even if I have to send it back to you all this Winter that will be ok.
Thank you,
Matt Keesor

RE: My tuner lost my tune...
If you made changes to the car, why did they want to see your old tune?
They could/should have just strapped the car to the dyno, and tuned it from scratch to support the changes you made.
Thanks

Re: RE: My tuner lost my tune...
Because I didn't change my MAF and if they could start with my old tune it would take much less time. They told me if they had to start from scratch it would cost me 3 more hours worth of dyno time. Besides the Air/Fuel was dead on at WOT they just needed to fix some drivability issues. They told me that they could possibly spend 3 hours starting from scratch and possibly not get the A/F as good as it was now.mikel wrote:If you made changes to the car, why did they want to see your old tune?

I still haven't had my original question answered. Is there a way to pull the tune off of the chip and give it to my tuner?
Thank you,
