Old Predator on new Truck

[hobie4065]

I recently purchased a Predator from a friend with the following information on the box - #990817 01-03 GM TK/SUV Duramax Diesel Predator FT.

Will this work on my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Diesel Duramax? When I tried it the message said that it could not find the VIN#.

Can I upgrade it and how do I do it.

Thanks

Hobie
