.035a after 10min or so.

I checked the 06 service manual and it says you need to wait only 3 mintues. It also has a breakdown of all the accecories and how much amperage they draw with the key off. A quick sum puts it only at .010a.

It would be cuirous to see if the 09 manual is different.

Thanks for the info on that. If I have a chance over the weekend I'll do a draw test to satisfy curiosities. Does it show the draw for the radio only? I know mine is not powering down.

I re-read all this. I am assuming you tried the Trinity without the DashHawk plugged in right?

I loaned the Dashhawk to a friend back in the spring so the car has not had that hooked to it for a long time. I did verify several times before I loaned it out that the Hawk killed the battery in a 8 hour sitting and it also kept the accessaries alive.

You had a current version image on the DashHawk?

It's kind of sounding like maybe something else is generating activity on the bus while the car is off which is either preventing these units from going to sleep, or if they do go to sleep, it's waking them up. ...assuming that's how the Trinity goes to sleep.

I know it was current as of the first of the year. I have not checked to see if any updates have been released recently. Again, another sleep question about the T that we need to know. Maybe one of these days Mike or one of the others will chime in.

The Trinity goes to sleep after a certain amount of time with no activity detected on the bus. It comes to life once it sees things come back on line.

If the middle LED is flashing on the front of the Trinity, it is in 'sleep' mode.

Why would mine act differently depending on how it is shut down? Either way it shows the flashing middle light.

It's like the refrigerator light... How do you know it was flashing (in sleep mode) all night long?

Assuming it's the Trinity and/or DashHawk draining your battery, my guess is that it's waking up during the night. Perhaps multiple times. You shut the car off and the Trinity times out on no activity on the bus and goes into sleep mode. Sometime later something generates traffic on the bus and the Trinity wakes up. Some time after the activity stops, Trinity times out and goes back to sleep, repeat...

If I was trying to debug this I might:
1) verify that the Trinity is waking up repeatedly through the night.-- got a digital camcorder? web cam to a pc? insomniac in the family? For it to draw that much power it must be lighting the screen for a good amount of time.
2) If so, how often, are the intervals regular, how long is the period of activity each time (time on - inactivity timer)
3) If you can't deduce what's generating the traffic then I'd see if they could get you a debug version that could log the activity/signals that are bringing it out of sleep mode.

I have sat in the car for extended periods with the key off and never saw the Trinity light up or do anything other than flash the light irregardless of how I shut it down. Hitting or not hitting the halt button makes no difference after key off. The screen shuts down and stays off and the light blinks. What kills the battery are the accessaries not powering down behind the scenes. Hitting the halt button after key off allows them to power down. Not hitting the halt button causes the accessories to stay active after key off till the battery goes dead.

Yikes. I know you said something about the accessories earlier (and I'm too lazy to go back and hunt for it). Was it all your accessories or only one or a couple or something?

This wouldn't be a fix but maybe a workaround. Have you tried programming your accessories to shut off after some time? In my 2006 personal settings in the EVIC I have mine configured to shut off (after key off) if you open a door OR after 10 minutes.

I have my EVIC set to shut stuff off after 30 minutes. I have changed the timer settings but it made no difference. I like the 30 setting because I listen to the radio while I clean it and that's usually just enough time to do the job. Thanks for the tip on the other guy! It looks like we have something in common!

You aren't the only one, and it is pretty easy to troubleshoot. Trinity connected = Dead Battery. Trinity Not Connect = Not Dead Battery. Oh and as far as the Dealer knowing about the install & voiding the Waranty, my dealer did the install & determined that it was the Trinity Killing the Battery.

We got a car in the shop and were able to figure this out.

It was directly related to the lack of an ignition key...we will release a new update that will allow you to reconfigure the trinity to query the vehicle every 30 seconds as opposed to the standard 5 seconds, which will keep the battery in good shape.

So this problem is fixed now? I can leave mine in my car hooked up? well I'll get the update and go from there. Would like to hear from someone else if they were successful without the battery dieing.
