RE: ds downloader cant find my predator
I have the same problem with mine. I have never figured out the trick. I just keep plugging stuff in in different orders and it finally detects it. Pretty sorry setup, very aggravating. IDK if its something with the computer, windows, or the predator. I always start with a fresh reboot on the laptop. Plug the predator into the truck, then into the computer. If that doesn't do it, plug it into the computer first, then the truck. Every time I do this, I keep getting more and more frustrated, and just as I'm about to lose it and just quit from rebooting and plugging stuff in a million times, all of a sudden it will detect it and things go smoothly from then on out.
Sorry, I know this isn't really helping you. Maybe someone will chime in with a definite solution. Just my .02. And now you know your not the only one

yes that is what I do as well, try to have nothing running in the back ground. Turning off my wireless connection on my laptop seemed to help the most, but try to have nothing running in the background. you can try and try and then all of a sudden it works like nothing was ever wrong.

right click your computer icon, click properties, open the hardware tab then click on device manager. Double click the ports (COM/LPT) and you should see your USB adapter there (radio shack or whatever brand). Double click that port and make sure it is working.
When all else fails, get the smoke wrench.
