MTCM

Post by jljbtm »

OK I have read through a couple of threads pertaining to MTCM and I'm just not clear. I have a '05 Magnum R/T with the 91CAI tune installed.
I purchased the MTCM.
I removed my CAI tune.
I installed the MTCM and I believe the adaptive are set but not 100% sure?
NOW, do I just re-install my CAI tune as it was - just do not touch any QA?

There's plenty of information on this over at LXforums. Do a search of MTCM.

Sounds like you did ok.

1) Restore original backup (stock tune) with stock TCM installed

2) Install MTCM

3) Install the 91 tune. The Predator will ask you to take a new backup with the MTCM installed.

Once completed, you can install tunes, restore settings, etc without overwriting the MTCM

As far as the quick adjusts go, no need to change anything unless the shift points are too high for your motor. You can bring them down.

As per the MTCM back-up...after backing-up the tune with the MTCM installed does this mean I will have both the original tune with the stock TCM backed-up and a new tune with the MTCM backed-up on the Predator...in other words, two tunes that I can revert to depending on what TCM is installed, despite the alterations made to either tune after the install?...I assume the latter but want to be sure...thanks for the help!!

No. Each time you restore an original back-up, it resets the Predator. The unit returns to a "as new" condition. The next time you go to use the unit, it will first store a back up of the tune.

The only tunes remaining at that point are the Diablo provided canned tunes.

Finally navigated into my cranium...takes awhile at times!!...the next question: is the MTCM worth the price in terms of a SIGNIFICANT increase in performance etc. and/or is Diablosport any closer to inculcating an updated predator flash for improving the OEM TCM...

Yes, the MTCM is a huge upgrade, it made my transmission response much better.

And from what I hear, Diablo is still a long ways from cracking the TCM, if they are even looking at it.
