Speed Limiter

Hello..

My name is Robert and I live in Germany.. we have no speed limits here.. I disabled my speed limiter and the car goes faster then it did ( about 185-190km/hr ) .. but not as fast as my friend's Mustang v6 ( he has the same car, same engine, same transmission, except his is a 2006 ) but he has a SCT Tuner and his car will his 225 km/hr !

I have a Predator U7145, d00418a, V.8r06, cal id FMAG0B6 and a 2007 Mustang V6, 5 speed automatic..

Why can I not go faster when I know for certain my friend does go 225 km/hr (140 mph USA) .. I can only fault the diablo tune since the only difference is he uses an SCT tuner..

maybe he raised the rev limiter and is getting that little extra rpm band? Or he is using a custom tune while you're using the tune that came with the diablosport.

SCT makes their tunes with Bama Custom Tunes, while Diablosport uses their own Diablosport Tunes... Both companies are different and maybe the SCT has a better tune. Maybe he is using 93 octane while you have less? And as far as I know, SCT gives you a custom tune to fit your vehicle when you buy an SCT, while Diablosport doesnt without having to pay extra... A lot of factors can make a difference.

First off he is using the 93 octane tune that came with his SCT tuner. He bought the tuner online like me.

Yes, Ive raised my rev limiter also.. but even you should know the REV Limiter doesn't effect top speed when the engine is NO-WHERE NEAR its redline when its pegged at 185 km/hr ! Yes, we are BOTH using 93 octane.. I was told its all computer and in fact in the tune.

The car has 240 torque ( 210hp american) .. I've had cars with much less power that could do 140mph+ .. There are a few American cars here with alittle over 100 torque/hp and doing 175 km/hr and i have double that and can only do 185 km/hr..

It's very clear the engine isn't running hard at that speed .. maybe moderate, but at 185 km/hr I'm being beaten by my friend who can go 225 km/hr ( 140mph ) and are cars are virutally identical, we both have GT tires also .. he has no cold air intake either..

As i said above only difference is he has an SCT.. is there anyone there who can write a tune to fix this ??

I FOUND this much older post today, someone had almost the exact same problem as me..
someone there wrote a tune and fixed it.. Is this same person working there? Where are the knowledgeable techs?
