U7194 Problems with codes P0171 and P0174

Post by wildhorseman »

Hello, I purchased a Diablosport Predator (v.9r16) from Autoanything.com for tuning my 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2. I also ordered a Volant CAI at the same time. I spoke with tech support people from both Diablosport and Volant in order to see if I should install the tune first or the CAI first, or if it mattered. I was told in both cases that it did not matter. As it happened, the Predator arrived last Friday, and the CAI this past Monday. I installed the Performance Tune (I assume it's a 93 octane tune, but it's not listed as such) on Sunday, and the vehicle has never had anything but 93 octane fuel in it. After the tune was loaded, I drove it, and it definitely seemed to make a difference in performance, although it was pinging under WOT shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but that seem to subside. I then installed the CAI on Monday night, and drove it for about 20 miles. From an engine perspective, it seemed to run fine. However, I was getting periodic "Service Traction Control" and "Service Stabilitrak" warnings that would come and go. Those warnings have NEVER come up before, and I've owned the vehicle since new (45,000 miles are on it).

I drove it to the airport on Tuesday, and on the way home tonight, the "Service Traction Control" and "Service Stabilitrak" warnings showed up sporadically again, and then the Check Engine Light went on. When I got home, I plugged the Predator in and found that it was throwing codes P0171 and P0174, which I researched and found that it is apparently running too lean. I reset the codes, but I'm now confused about what to do about the "running too lean" issue and the "Service Traction Control" and "Service Stabilitrak" warnings that keep showing up.

I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you.

Check to make sure ALL the connections of your intake are tight and not leaking.

Thank you for your reply. I double-checked all the connections on the CAI, and they're tightly sealed. After reading about similar issues on this forum, I was wondering if I'll need to make fuel adjustments with the Predator, which hopefully isn't too confusing. But the "Service Traction Control" and "Service Stabilitrak" warnings that keep showing up are really confusing -- I know when I installed the tune, during the tune download, it triggered those warning lights and chimes, etc, which I assume was normal. But I'm just really confused.

Normal to see those messages after a flash.
