New to this... Torque Management

Ok, GM is frustrating again apparently. I'm running a bone stock 2010 Silverado 1500 4x4 4L60 4.8 flex. I have a U7194 with the 9r16 revison. Ran the 87 octane tune, loved it. Noticable improvement in driveablilty, though minor as I expected. Fuel economy on the highway was excellent. (averaged 11.6 L/100km. Canadian.) Once I've run this tank of 91 through I intend to refill with 91 and try the 91 tune.

My question is this: Do i need to cough up the bucks for a custom tune just to reduce the effect of that meddling torque management crap? I won't be doing any real mods to this thing aside from perhaps CAI and cat-back exh. But for now, I'd REALLY like to get rid of this TM BS so I can actually play with this damn thing a bit. Also, does anyone in Winnipeg, MB, Canada write tunes? I've been unable to find anyone. Thanks in advance!

Ok. After reading a bit more of this forum I understand why I am not getting an answer. I am a bit frustrated for obvoius reasons. Looks like I'll need a tune... Really, how hard is it to add that as a menu item? I mean, they can custom tune it, but the end user cant get it? Kinda smells fishy to me...

Nah not fishy bro...they make it that way so numbskulls can't tune stuff that they have no idea what it does and grenade their engine and/or tranny! Also get a diablew tune! You'll swear you've died and gone to heaven!

well even a custom tune doesnt remove all TM just some. u might want to look into other tuners even efi live its spendy but i heard jet performance has same setup as efi live at half price plus u can multiple cars and it has tcm support

Hmm I'd wait for the intunes If you want to tune multiple cars! I think the trinity will have multiple car support as well! I heard jet is anaemic in performance like superchips and hypertech! I did an install with hypertech on a buddies truck and couldn't believe how worthless it was compared to my predator..and if tcm support you mean "oh,look,I got a little shift pressure!" That's kinda lame! And cmr software is just like efilive! If you want to be able to adjust everything that's great,but if you mess ANYTHING up you WILL grenade you engine/tranny or both!

Thanks for clarifying Morgoth. I AM a bit of a numbskull and have a habit of F*&%ing things up that I don't understand. Been in touch with Lew, and I'm doing my first set of logs to send him in a few minutes! I've read nothing but rave reviews about his GM tunes (not just here but on other sites) and was considering it. Ran into an old buddy who bought an 07 from Minnesota that had the "lew" tune on it. It's also a 4.8. Its frickin fast. I'm sold. Lew's getting money from me today!

And ftrspeedy, if you have so much beef with DS, why do you keep coming here to post about how much it sucks? Dynos and Trap Speeds dont lie, dude, and for someone like me who definitely should NOT have unlimited power to change settings they don't understand DS is working out great. Pay a pro do do it for me, and get all the support I need. I can balance jets on dual quads by sound and smell, tell by sound wither someone's SBC's vaccum advance is set right, but I can barely turn on a computer. So if you don't like this tuner, perhaps go post about how weak it is somewhere else, because the only reason I can see for you to do it here is because you're bored and like to annoy people. EFIlive is NOT for me, or for most. Thanks.
