A tunner for my Truck is finally here!

Post by zar »

I have a 2003 F250 with a 5.4L gas auto. My local Ford SVT dealer told me to wait for Diablo Sport ( but nothing happened for years) so I bought a Superchip Flashpaq and have been suffering ever since. I require a tunner for towing and would like a program that helps with the low RPM torque ( 1800 to 2500 RPM ). I have a few questions before I go and chuck my Flashpaq and buy a U7155.
- Is there a dyno chart for this tunner ? ( ican't find one on your website )
- Can shitf points be altered with the U7155 ?
- Does the U7155 support K & N Cold Air Intakes ?

Regards

For an 03 F250 with the 5.4L you want a U7152, not a U7155.
I do not have any dyno charts available, however the tuner should give your truck about 20hp and 20ft lbs.
The U7152 does not have any adjustable parameters but should work just fine with a K&N intake.

Thanks Christina I made a mistake I checked my truck and I have a 3V motor ( not a 2V) and the truck is 2005 not 2003 ( whata bad day ). Is the 20Hp & 20 ft lbs at peak RPM or is this at 2500 RPM ? Do I have to use premium to get this gain or can I use regular gas ? Can I adjust tire size on the U7155 ?

lol oops.

Yeah the U7155 is what you need. The tunes are similar though. And yes, the 20/20 is peak but we saw good gains across the board. I wish that I had the sheets! I will see if there are any stored on the dyno computer for you. As for the gains, the 20/20 is with 93, yes. As with any vehicle, the hp gains will decrease with lower octane fuel. Also, the U7155 is capable of adjusting tire size. :)

Thanks Christy
I also looked at the Hypertech website and they too recently offer a tunner that would fit my truck. I noticed that they had a Dyno chart that offered better numbers ( 40 ft lbs and 13 Hp on premium gas @ 1700 RPM and 37 ft lbs and 25 Hp at 3500 RPM- this peak HP using premium fuel). Is this a fair conmparison to the gains that the U7155 Preditor is offering ? or is there a comprimise ? Please comment - I am trying to compare apples to apples.
