Predator U7194 R18 2010 camaro L99
When my car was NA at start up the AAT and the IAT were about even then during cruise about a 2 degree celsius difference. Although I am no longer tuned with the predator after adding a maggie, I still use the Predator as a convenient means to log. Since installing the maggie the ambient air temp readings are always low and then increase with some driving. For example, this morning I went for a ride and at start up the ambient air temp on the Predator read 15 degrees celsius which is 59 degrees F. After making a couple of stops and having driven about twenty miles, the ambient temp slowly increased a degree at a time over maybe thirty to forty minutes of driving to 28 degrees celsius (which by the way was about right). The ambient air temp changed 11 degrees celsius or about 52 degrees F. Any ideas how this is happening?

RE: Logging ambient air temp
Tells me the AAT sensor is being affected by the blower heat...

NO
The ambient air temp the day I referrenced was 82 degrees F. The readings the Predator was displaying from 59 degrees up to 81 degrees were erroneous and incorrect. The true ambient temp that day was 82 degrees so even though I have a "cold air intake system", it's not efficient enough to cool the ambient air

Guess what...just to cut it off before we get there, it is not the predator causing the issue.
it just reads data from the PCM, you'll see the same thing on any scan tool.

I'm just looking for rational as to how the AAT always starts out reading much colder than true ambient but yet with time, it always eventually reads the correct AAT. Because of consistant repeatability, it doesnt't sound like a broken sensor.
I don't believe the ECM uses the AAT data for any of its performance calculations anyway. I'm just curious as to what is making the temp readings act this way.
