AFE claims no tune required, but I don't know if they have a reducer or not on the inside. I'll have to check there site. You could try adding 8% to the MAF transfer for now. Have you checked the fuel trims at all?
also replaced MAF sensor, checked fittings and intake for loose connections, still no luck, im at my wits end here, giving up and taking to a garage... thanks for your suggestions,
ive been told i have a bad catitytic converter on the drivers side, i have to put on a new exhaust. so nothing else will help that , thanks for taking the time to help me out.
i cant even spell "catalytic "right,,, hard code to troubleshoot,,, seems i got ripped off when i bought the car, on the left rear o2 sensor had a resistor to keep the cat code off, thats what was tripping the "lean code" drivers side cat on the x-pipe is bad and the system is welded. so when my wife comes home with my truck , we are getting a new exhaust system, and putting it in this weekend. magnaflow xpipe and pipes to the rear, nice sound and she will be legal as well
so tomorrow i finish installiing a magnaflow xpipe with new cats, replace the fudged O2 sensor . Is there any special tuning tips i can do with the combo of AFE intake and the X-pipe, with a 5 speed.
passed inspection today after replacing x pipe and removing resistors on the o2 sensors that hid a 'bad cat code' and turned the p2272 code on. so i was troubleshooting for a vacuum leak when i had a bad cat. now its running great with the 87 octane performance tune in except for hard starting 1st thing in the morning, any ideas for that???
