where'd my HP go! Mikel I need help

Post by qchenelle »

8-1-07 went to a" Dyno nite" and BBQ. I had the 93 octane tune installed went on dyno first pull 364 rwhp, second pull 362 {91 octane fuel, bone stock c6 ls2 2006 mn6} Had bad knock at around 4000 rpm, like a hammer blow! went away after that, air/fuel "wandering" around went home and checked the website and there was the 91 octane tune, installed it. Went back to the same dyno last nite{Cooler than before} x-pipe k&n filters, first pull 342rwhp second 336, What happened! is the dyno guy pulling a fast one to get bizz? or should I put the 93 tune back in and adj the timing and how do i do that exactly, or do you have a rep arond here that can help me, would like to have that 20 hp back, I really like this tool for all it can do for me, but I would like to have that hp back Thanks Quinn {he may not have the traction control off, would that make a diff?}

That knock has me worried. Think maybe you got some bad gas back then (besides the fact you had the wrong fuel!!!)? Anyway, your going to have less HP with a 91 tune over a 93 obviously, did you ever set up your slope and PE tables? And, don't get hung up on a dyno's numbers, they change day to day. Whats more important is some 60 and 330 ft times. Grab the macro from the sticky and do a run with the tune ya got, and then put in the diablo tune(93) drive it a bit and do another run and compare.
