Let me start off by saying that you guy's have been great.Your help has made a real differance in my Daily driving. You guy's have shown that you care and stand behind your product.I'm happy to be associated (through my purchase)with Diablo and the fine folk's that make this company what it is.I also understand about business and how it work's.I know that priorities have to be set in order to get thing's done and keep the co. door's open.I realize that you can't drop everything to cater to a few.I came here seeking help for what i thought was a serious problem.(This is not a Diablo handheld problem as much as it's a cmr problem.)We are being told go ahead and put that cam in we can tune it.I have found through over a year of loading and trying differant tune's and risking my truck's pcm that this is not quite true.(At least for us with the cam's) With trying to tune this truck i have experianced lunging when stopping and almost taking out the back of the car in front of me (twice),the truck dieing on me when trying to get into traffic with the nose of the truck in the highway, the truck dieing when stopping and blocking the road, countless dieing when trying to get parked and if it lunged at the time you better be ready to hit the brake's,ect. Not to say all the heartache it cause's with what your pride and joy is doing.Ok!!! Let's call it the nature of the beast. But you'll have to admit the danger and the putting of other's in harm's way these situation's can cause. We have kid's following these foot step's to proformance. The thought of them and there passenger's in these same situation's is a lot of the reason why i'm here. These cercumstance's are created by part of the same surge. The guy's who are tuning these truck's are working and trying there ass off to solve this problem for all there customer's.Sometime's they have success some time's they can do no more.If you could of drove my truck before your help you would see excatly what i'm trying to get you to see.I had no choice left but to spend more money and try another tuner with posibly the same result's.Mike said that he seen this before and could possible solve this if Diablo would be willing to help. You guy's have helped and the truck is safer to drive. But the truth of the matter is there are other's who are still dealing with this same problem.Johan i can see where you think it may be a mechanical problem and so did I.But out of all the mechanical thing's i've checked or changed the only thing that has helped or had any result's has had to do with tune adjustment's.(remember that i said that changing from crom 9r03 to 9ro9td made an improvement in the surge.) Most of us take better than average care of our vechicle's and in my case very low mileage. So if it is mechanical it is eluding all of us.This far down the line i think it's tune related or something in the DCX that don't like cam change's.Before your help i was seriously considering returning to stock (i'm sure i'm not the only one and out of frustration i'm sure some did) and for me this ment no tuner needed. If all this can be avoid by a simple addition of a pid added to cmr then i say it will only make happier, safer customer's and only create more business.Let's let the kid's have there fun but let's keep them safe while doing it.I will bother you guy's with this no more.I leave it in your hand's to do what you think is right for all involved.johan wrote:You guys have to understand our workload and priorities from a business point of view.
I get told what to work on, 2011 DCX stuff has priority over pretty much everything as far as new development goes here.
Also, the word "surge" is used a little too loosely here in reference to what your vehicle is doing.
I can honestly say that i have probably tuned 100plus plus vehicles with fairly large cams and been able to eliminate any kind of surging.
From what i can see the case discussed here is rather special and i am almost thinking there might be some mechanical issues that is contributing to this surge, a vehicle simply does not act like that from calibration changes(proper ones).
Just saying.....
Also an FYI, i do not get on the forums here as much as i would like to but i try, thats all i can do at this point.
Thank's for listening (and your help)
