Custom tune or not

I currently have the u7193 rev1.01 on my 2005 Silverado Z71 which was awesome but i just installed a 6" lift and 20's on 35's and im looking for a little more uumphff. right now i have an AEM Brute Force Intake, gutted MAF sensor, and Cherry Bomb Extreme 3"in/3"out, looking to go with an offroad y pipe and true dual Extreme mufflers. Right now i am running the regular performance tune with adjustments on max mph and tire size. i was wondering if yall had a custom tune for my upgrades that would help enough to go through the trouble of sending it back to be upgraded or would it not be that noticable of a difference. i dont feel i know enough to confidently mess with fuel slopes, shift points and things like that. so yay or nay??

#1 - you should definitely get it upgraded.. that is an olllllld tool you have.. and the tunes have been improved since then....

#2 - you should not have removed the screen from the MAF sensor... that does nothing to help you, but it only screws up the MAF sensor's accurate reading of the amount of airflow... it's in there for a reason.. so, get a new stock MAF sensor put on that truck and keep the screen in it!!

#3 - yes, a custom tune would help even more than the preset tunes, by getting your fueling/timing dialed in, as well as a bunch of other adjustments that are done in a custom tune to help improve throttle response, acceleration, torque and torque management settings, etc etc... so you definitely want to get that tool upgraded so that you can record data logs for getting a custom tune done.

how do i go about getting that done?

and as far as the MAF would a performance one be better or would ya recommend just the stock one there about the same to replace either way

noooo, do not get an aftermarket MAF either! those have no screen, and are calibrated in such a way that they fool the pcm into thinking the engine is running leaner than it really is... you'll never be able to get your fueling dialed in correctly...

all you need is a stock MAF sensor... they can handle 550+ hp anyway, so there's no reason to get anything else...
