CAI or not?

Post by timadam »

From the link below (which is pretty close to my set up as far as the air intake goes), would I benefit from installing a K&N CAI to the engine?

You gotta get the filter away from the motor. Its sucking in hot air like that, which is probably causing you quite a bit of knock and power.

Problem is that it is in a Jeep Wrangler and I don't have a lot of spare room.

I have a Volant CAI. It draws air from under the front bumper so no hot engine bay air. You can also get a snorkel for it.

Problem with that is, he's got a Hemi in his Wrangler, so its really tight under the hood.

I wonder what AJ is using on his 426 Unlimited?

One thing that I don't lack is power. With a good hole shot, I can lift the front tires off the ground, so I am wondering if this is really an issue or not.

I just bought this two weeks ago. The pics will have to wait as there is about 11" of snow here in Michigan!
