You did install the USB-Serial device driver correct?

Your tool info looks fine. I tried same CROM rev with a bench ECU taking it's backup and exporting it from Predator.
It downloaded using DSDL using Prolific USB-Serial driver and cable (U7778) without issue. This was on PC running XP Professional.
Might want to try eliminating other USB devices and plugging your USB-Serial adaptor direct into PC/Laptop.

Also, I assume your using DSDL "Express Tune Tab" -> "Get Tune File from Tool" button.

jimb---- Success I was using a belkin powered multi usb connector unhooked it plugged direct to hispeed usb port where belkin was and hey presto backup saved
